Would love him too. It's very hard to accept that while he was still on top of his game he chose to get out (granted - with his health, wealth, and atg status in place). But now that his official number one challenger, Cotto, lost (only a few months after his retirement), I doubt we'll be seeing him again.
How are these FACTS? We're going back to using opinions as facts, eh? And didn't Shane duck Margarito twice? And yet you GOTTA LOVE HIM... Is this not a PERFECT example of double standards?
i somewhat agree, and IMO stylistically cotto gives floyd a better fight than margo, and now floyd has a reason not to fight cotto.
Is this in anyway going to reflect on his status as an all time great? No. At least we agree that Floyd is great, though. You obviously been watching boxing for longer than 3 years. :thumbsup Boxing's not about personality's. Yeah, you can choose your favourite's that way. OF COURSE YOU CAN! But when it comes to ranking and rating a fighter, personality's have NOTHING to do with it. These "3 year veterans" fail to realise this at the moment
Peace, bro. Floyd was a great fighter. He is an all-time great. Some fighters just don't match up with others. Lennox Lewis avoided Corrie Sanders, and he was wise to do so. Corrie is just the kind of guy who could have "Rahmaned" Lennox. PBF doesn't have to fight Margo, but the whole "Margo is no one" thing is gone, and Floyd's chickenness can no longer be hidden. The truth is out, and that's all I care about. If Floyd fought Margo, he could end up like Cotto did last night. He doesn't want that, and so he didn't take the fight. Nothing wrong with that. It's one of those "Don't spit on me and tell me it's raining" things. Floyd ducked Margo, and to pretend he didn't or try to play the 'Who's Margo?' thing was always crap. With Margo's destruction of Cotto, that argument is gone, forever. Margo is exactly what Floyd and boxing insiders knew he was -- someone who did not fit the PBF cherrypicked profile.
