Do the Dickinson Brothers get no credit because they are from the North East???

Travis beat both DeGale and Groves (think he KO'd both, know he beat Groves twice and KO'd him at least once) as an armature and is 11-0 with 5 ko's and nobody knows who he is.
John Lewis Dickinson has had 12 pro's won 10 and only lost twice through injury on both occaisions.
Both have won prize fighter yet nobody even knows who they are and they get no attention. Ican't help but feel that were they from London, Liverpool or Manchester they would be getting the super star treatment.

I think the problem has more to do with their relative (no pun intended) inactivity as opposed to their geographic location

Yeah but they seem to be in the gym all the time when I'me there. Ring rust didn't affect them at all. It's Maloney and his match making imo.

They have both been on sky more than once, don't see what
    the problem is.

It's not because they're form the NE then?

It's a mixture of inactivity and lack of press, and the fact they haven't got a big promotor behind them.

The only cure for that is winning, and winning impressivily so people can't help but notice them. Travis Dickinson will go far, he seems really really composed in the ring and should go on to easily get a European belt at some point. His brother has suffered a couple of set backs and there are some questions over his chin, but he has knockout power and if he gets fighters out of there early, he too could become a British champion.

Aye it is actually because if they were cockneys they'd be getting tthe superstar treatment from Maloney.

Both his defeats were down to A) a severly smashed nose and B) a smashed nose/jaw. He didn't get KO'd in either as far as I know, he was just unlucky in one of those inavoidable ways. I know what your saying though.

I guess that highlights not his chin in that case but his lack of defence. Perhaps he can take a good shot as well as any, but if he's putting himself in a situation where his nose is smashed up. Then he has to go back to the gym and think "how did I get caught with those shots".

I didn't watch either fight, and agree with you that it might not be a matter of chin. Those things happen in boxing in regards to swelling and broken jaws etc. But they're things he probably knows he could have avoided if he did things differently.

So they have been given the kind of promotion that Groves and DeGale have? They have to keep winning yes but they deserve to be matched properly and regularly for the sake of their careers. I think Eddie Hearn would be a good manager.

Yeah I know what you mean, you don't see Floyd Mayweather going through that but it was just a freak accident. I think it's on youtube.

DeGale was an Olympic gold medalist. Comparing how he was promoted to virtually any other prospects is a little pointless.

What about Groves though. Fair play DeGale probably would've got the nod vs. Groves if he hadn't been so mouthy but still regardless, I think it's time we started giving these guys their due credit.

If Jeffries was more active, then the Dickinson brothers would be too. With Jeffries out, they struggle to be able to put shows on up in the North East.

Jon-Lewis was coming along nicely until the injuries really halted his progress and momentum built from Prizefighter. Plus, I've heard Travis can only blame himself and his out-of-ring activities as to why he hasn't been as active as he should be.
