I was thinking maybe they should try Klistschko in the new Barclay center there is a huge population of Russian & Ukraine folks that live out in Coney Island not too far from it. Would be interesting the numbers it can potentially do.
Last time Wlad fought in New York, the local Slavs booed him out of the Garden because they didn't like his performance against Ibragimov.
KlitschKOs have fans everywhere - America, Europe, Africa, Asia... It is a normal thing. They care about people in need. They want to give back.
Yeah I remember that. Americans just don't put up with that jab and grab fighting scared ****. Wlad fight small Ibragimov like he is scared to get hit. If the Klitschkos had a lot of fans here they would not be fighting on Epix. Fury's fight on NBC had way better ratings than Wlads fight on Epix.
Very few amongst the hardcore fans More amongst the lesser fans of the sport for sure, if they were to put an event on, then who knows. The lack of any viable HW in the elite puts pay to that.
NBC is also a free basic cable ch. So everybody that owns a tv, and antenna gets to watch it free. Epix is relatively new to the list of pay premium channels, and because of that, many cable providers are hesitant of adding another channel and dollar to an already expensive cable bill. Fact is, here in the states, with the exception of Pac, Floyd, and Hopkins(do to his age) you won't hear or see a second of boxing news or discussion on any channel unless it is a dedicated program already i.e. FNF on NBC Fight Night. Although I will say ESPN still found time to air some of Klitschko's highlights vs. Pianeta. And that's only cause he's the HWC. Canelo will probably be added to the list, should he continue to win and produce exciting fights. Considering his record and age, he has a lot of time to continue building a larger following. Once Floyd retires maybe Ward having taken over the #1 P4P spot could as well.
