Do these Sparring stories hold any weight on how a fight would go ?

    That was a great read. It was poignant how his friend wanted him to quit on top. Everybody wanted him to quit on top but he wouldn't listen.

    NO and sometimes...

    Most of the time a sparring partner is there for work not a head-to-head matchup...if a sparring partner is able to get the better of a champion then it is exactly what the camp wants a sparring partner to cause problems so they can be addressed...sometimes the camp just wants a live punching bag either way sparring is for work and sometimes they get heated, and sometimes on occasion the camp discovers the style that their fighter struggles with and knows to avoid similar styles

    Sparring is an interesting thing, for example I've read that Andrew Golota sparred with David Tua, and was quite competetive. However with Golota folding quickly against big punchers I really couldn't see a different outcome.
