Boxing fans are dumb as hell. Only MMA fans are worse. I say that as a boxing fan. Imagine if other sports were criticized as much? "Yeah sure he scored the winning goal but his stick handling is sloppy as hell, he's a bum".
IDK.....I remember JLC winning 8 rds and being robbed. That was some time ago. I remember Gatti getting brutally KDd on a break after being hit behind the head with an elbow. I remember Floyd retiring to hide from Manny and Margo. And I remember him holding like crazy last night. No, my memory, both long and short term are pretty well intact.:think
With the majority being casuals, there's no reason to be surprised that they don't remember. Casuals pass by when big and highly publicized fights are close to happen and then vanish completely forgetting what they watched less than a month later.
Boxing like in every sport what matters to most people is what you have done lately, you're only as good as your last performance its that way in every sport not just boxing. Look at what happened with Kevin Durand after he carried OKC during the regular season almost by himself was called Mr Unreliable by some OKC Newspaper after he had some sub par games in the first round of the playoffs.
