Floyd, and others, have implied in the past that Manny is surrounded by the wrong team. That he could make more money away for Arum etc

Anyone think this is true or just trash talk? Does Manny get the bulk of what he makes or do too many people have their hands in his pockets? If he makes roughly $100m for that last fight, how much does he get for himself?

Well I think the proof is in the pudding.

All of the biggest fighters in the top rank stable- and I mean mainly from a popularity standpoint- have left Arum over the past decade + except for Pacman.

DLH left him, as did Mayweather, Cotto and Chavez JR (who's only mentioned on this list due to his level of popularity.)

I wonder if Manny's career would've played out differently had he left TR years ago.

You know why Pacquiao is having tax problems? Bob Arum. The probable reason why Manny didn't postpone the fight against Floyd? Bob Arum. The probable reason why the fight didn't get made for 5 years? Bob Arum. Manny's not pocketing even 80% of what he's making? Bob Arum.

There's a reason why DLH, Floyd, and eventually Cotto left Bob Arum.

    Shouldn't somebody start an appeal?
Maybe an advertisement, I'll sell it to you, listen...

*sad violin music* fade in with a black and white shot of Pacquiao holding his shoulder looking sad and the female voice over begins..

"This is Manny, Manny needs your help, he is promoted poorly, he has a shoulder injury, he sometimes has been made to wear the wrong socks, he gets cramps in his legs, he has a fear of needles, was recently beaten and can't accept defeat like a man... With your help and $5 a month donation we can help Manny and many others like him accept defeat and move on with their lives.."

Switch to a shot (still in black and white) in slow mo of Manny starting to smile.

Well? Come on be honest you would donate, I know I would.

    define fairly.

he was just a part of a fight that grossed more money than the GDP of 29 countries (which I don't know it was a stat on ESPN). i'm sure he pocketed more money than we'll all make in several lifetimes.

many say the same about floyd, but a lot of people look at manny as a great fighter but also a little smoke and mirrors with the matchmaking and catch weights. he's made a boat load of money. i'm sure his camp have made a boat load off him too but whatever no one should feel bad for him.

It's true but managing one's self all alone is pretty much a full-time job and not an easy one. Pacquiao isn't a full-time boxer, he has other errands to pursue and take care of.

pac can't manage his own even if he tried... hed probably end up broke if he tried.

I guess it's the trade off for giving arum the go ahead to promote him.... HELLO promoters get paid for their work...

dentist's for example get paid about 40-60% whenever they treat a patient. Now if they wanted all the money, they would have to open their own clinic, advertise on their own, manage and keep on growing their clienteles on their own....

They would need a minimum of 20 hours a week on top of their DENTAL job to be able to make it... Just like any entrepreneurial work, you need to work hard to make it..... unless you're smart and know how to delegate and hire the right people. doubt pacquiao have what it takes so he's happy paying arum 50% for his work
