Void will never fight Pac becasue he is afraid of not only losing but he is afraid he will get hurt. Toney was correct!

I'd say both legacies are as secure as they'll ever be at this point. Even if they don't fight one another, they have at least a ground floor for how long they can be rated.

Why does he need to fight Paul Williams?
Williams is good but far from great. The dude has no defense and lacks power so if Floyd beats him you already know what they will say.
No matter WHO Floyd beats, they will discredit that fighter.
People do this to every opponent and fighter in the history of boxing. Think about it.
    Example:

Clay Vs. Liston =Liston was old, only a puncher and underestimated Clay
Ali Vs. Frazier 1 = Ali was past his prime, could not dance like he used to
Ray Leonard Vs. Hearns 1 = Hearns had no chin and let the fight slip away.
Duran Vs. Leonard 1 = Leonard fought the wrong fight and was not ready for this fight
Jones Vs. Tarver 2= Jones was past his prime and weight drained
The list can go on forever. Only time this would have been hard was in the 50's with out lack of sound recording of fighters.

Either way, unless Floyd fights at Heavyweight and unifies the titles there, he will always be undermined in the record books.

Pacman has a legacy, but beating Floyd or Shane would be the fight which proves he really could win fights at welterweight vs. great fighters. Beating Shane would be a nice win also. Shane is an ATG.

Total domination at LW, Two wins over ODLH, two over Vargas, Luis Collazo, Mayorga and Margarito? I say he has a good case for ATG status.

the problem with Money is that, he has more to accomplish if he is to achieve a legacy that is as great as he proclaims. without a doubt Mayweather is one of the best boxers of the new era, (not counting the classic and mythical throwback fighters.) anyone who denies it or discredits what he has already accomplished is simply a hater. with that says, it hurts to see someone who's talent is only out done by his mouth. mayweather right now beats anyone within his weight range hands down, Paul Williams included. martinez exposed him the same way quintana did, angles, counters, and lead straights. pacquiao, with all do respect, is a stylistic mismatch that floyd would dismantle. unfortunately, it will never be proven because his ego doesn't always have the heart to fuel it.

at least he fought castillo a second time. how many fighters have we seen receive a gift or close decision and then take credit for the faulty victory and be too scared to give a rematch? joe calzaghe anybody?

    I agree.
We've been arguing Mayweather for years. I just bumped two topics from years ago that are still relevant today as to Mayweather's comp.
    Pac has provent himself.

I'd say it's a fair statement. But, on the other hand, if Floyd beats Mosley and then Pac, it would dispel alot of the bad mojo he has built up. He may always have that 5 year stretch, give or take, when he didn't fight the best guys, but this would alleviate alot of that.

In regards to Pac, he has steadily taken on tough challenges. Moving on up in weight as he went along. As far as I'm concerned his legacy is solid now. Mayweather would be the cherry on top. (no pun intended)

Mayweather needs Pac. Pac has accomplished more although if he retires now without fighting Mayweather, I think it'll look bad for him. Especially with the way he acted during the whole steroid/juicing bull****.

IMHO...If Floyd beats Mosley(old as is he is,he's still formidable)..then Pac or the Punisher....then I think at this stage his legacy will be complete as an ATG...Cotto's damaged goods...and I don't think The Punisher can actually make 147 again...that leaves Mosley and Pac.

That accomplished..I'd still put him as a Top 30ish ATG...The skillz are undeniable...as a matter of fact,if the P4P atg was classified only by technical skillz,Floyd would be Top10 for sure in my book...but it's the fights that make ATG.

Pisses me off when I think that if Floyd had a different mentality,he could have sealed his legacy 8yrs ago...when Zoo,Forrest,Trinidad,Mosley(yes the LW and WW version)DLH(not this version) were around..any three of these cats would have sealed his legacy far better than it would now with the current crop.

Kudos to him for closing this deal with Mosley tho'.It's about time damnt!!

Shane and Pac and no one can really argue whether his legacy is complete, except those with an agenda (and most people have one, so have no problem with it).

I don't see people in 30 years time really mentioning the likes of Margo, especially if Floyd beats Shane convincingly (the guy that just whooped Marg)... And it's actually a "fact" that Floyd tried to fight Cotto...

Pac and Shane and history will be VERY kind to Floyd...

However if he wants to talk about top 10/20 ATG, he can't stop there.

I agree to a degree, but note that Floyd was only a super feather 8 years ago. And not exactly "huge" either. He has a significant height and reach disadvantage to all.

He did actually offer a fight to Shane when he was at lightweight.

Trinidad and Forrest would never have been on the radar (wasn't Trinidad a middleweight 8 years ago?).

Tszyu was a showtime fighter who was injured when Floyd first moved into his division, and then lost to Hatton by the time Floyd became champion (against Gatti).

Floyd's career and resume, and how history will look upon him, will not all be about "welterweight"... The guys fought 4 fights there, out of 40.
