Perception is reality and 50 years from now, most people will still view Floyd as the one who initially didn't want the fight when it was at its most juiciest and that will forever taint his legacy. He might still save some face if Pac looks great against Rios and they get it on in Spring 2014 and wins but Floyd could've really cemented his greatness and erase any doubt had they fought in 2008-2010. But that ship has sailed and people will always question Floyd because of this. Floyd needed Pac more than Pac needed Floyd because at the time, Pac was "the man" streamrolling over everyone.

Isn't Floyd the Man steamrolling over everyone now?

Regardless of what his belief was, Manny turned down 50-50 and walked away.

“Floyd can have top billing, he can be introduced in the ring first or last. “He can wear my trunks. I don’t care. I just want to get him in the ring and make the fight.”

No he didn't. Floyd never offered 50/50.

I blame both, but more so "Manny's team" as in Arum and company.

I don't really think Manny cares who he fights, I think to him is just show up to train and fight, collect check and go back home to the Philippines, and lets Arum make and not make whatever fights he wants according to how much money there to be made.

    :deal

I don't even think Manny's cares about boxing anymore, and is occupied with all his other endeavors. Ie: Businesses, Charities, Political Work, Real Estate etc, etc etc

Boxing is just one of the many things he does.

Both deserve blame for the fight not happening at various points in the last few years.
However, I think the sole blame initially goes to Manny Pacquiao.
Had he not had issues with PED testing when the fight had allready been initially and fully negotiated to be a go, the fight would have happened at exacty the perfect time. Floyd after handily beating Marquez, and Pacquiao at his absolute peak before getting exposed by Juan Manuel Marquez as just a good, but not great technical boxer.

Looking back at it now, I think it just as well Mayweather vs Pacquiao not have been made. Had it been made before Pacquiao getting exposed by a true boxing great in Marquez, history would have over-credited Mayweather's feat of easily outboxing a much smaller mostly physically skilled fighter, as before Marquez exposed him, alot of the boxing media were overrating Pacquiao's honing of his boxing skill.

Turns out good for boxing we dont have to hear of Floyd "cherrypick" Mayweather being the greatest of all time.

50/50 was on the table before the Pacquiao-Clottey fight was made over broken up negotiations over PED testing.
The only thing that needed to be worked out was the PED testing and neither side agreed with the other.
Pacquiao say's yes to PED testing before the Clottey fight got made, fight would have happened.

Steamrolling guys floyd already beat. The only person worth a **** at the time was cotto. And floyd wanted the fight after that, Roach claimed that March( Which Arum disagreed with) was too early to fight because Manny's eardrum and Arum said he cant fight after that date because of politics in his country. These ****s turn around and fight clottey in March though. Explain this please.

Seems Floyd explained it pretty well in the mlive article.

But anyway, all you're saying is that Manny had a 50-50 deal in front of him and lied and ran away.
