although my pics have been good this year, i often do this for my favorite fighters.

Example i gave gatti maybe a 30 percent chance of beating mayweather, where as if i looked at it objectivley, i should have known it was more like a 2 percent chance haha. i think we often dont look at fights as objectivley as we should. like woods tarver, we ALL thought woods would win because we WANTED him to sooo bad, bc tarver is an ass clown

I thought Woods would win because he was still fighting good fighters and putting on good showings (Johnson, Gonzalez) and Tarver looked horrible against an average, perhaps below average fighter. Tarver is also 38-39 yrs old and looked well past it.

Of course you do. I think it's common human nature. For example I always give Zab Judah a high percentage to win in every fight he's in (I for some reason think he will beat Clottey) and everytime since the Baldomir fight he has disappointed. Also I find myself doing the same thing with Roy Jones Jr. As he ages I still think he has a shot at beating Calzaghe (a 40% chance) while most think he will get schooled. But that is the fun of being a fan I guess.

No doubt bro, it's only natural to do that. (Sometimes we ride with our heart)

No. When I thought Wright would TKO Hopkins, Oscar would KO Floyd or Shane would KO Cotto I was being completely unbiased and objective.

Oh there was no doubt in my mind that Morales would beat Pac up in the rubber match also.

I thought hatton was going to stop mayweather. but then i should have looked at the fact that its the classic boxer vs brawler and the boxer has the reach, height, weight and style advantage.

but i didnt want to believe that, cuz im a hatton fan

I try not too but it somehow indirectly shines through from time to time. But for the most part I'm as unbiased as a swiss.

actually yes... specifically with three fighters...Trinidad, Vargas and Oscar, i dont know why i always give them the benefit of the doubdt, except when Tito fought RJJ, there i was just hoping for a miracle, but usually Vargas was the one that let me down the most :S

No, but I know many fans on ESB that do it ...

There's no way that Calzaghe or Gamboa are the fighters that their fans have hyped them up to be.

I think most of us do to some extent. I picked Oscar to beat Floyd.

lol, this is a funny question. I think I've realized I've tried to justify for my favorite fighters by saying they have a "punchers chance" (I too thought Gatti had a chance to beat Mayweather, 30 seconds into the fight I realized I was being silly) So with that "Punchers chance" I knock up their chances a few notches in my head. Typically though, I'm pretty unbiased, I don't really have favorite fighters, but I do have fights that get me very excited.

    Not really.

I like Manny Pacquiao a lot but I picked against him in the first Marco Antonio Barrera fight, first 2 Erik Morales fights, and the fights with Juan Manuel Marquez.

No I rationally break down fighter's strenghts and weaknesses and come to a conclusion.
