Wait until after the Pacquiao fight and ALL the haters will come out and say that Cotto was damaged goods, weight drained, handpicked, posioned, etc; I hope I'm wrong but everybody and their mother said that Pac would get annihilated by Oscar and that Hatton would have his way with him. Then all of the sudden those same people said that both of those guys were "shot" and weightdrained.

I dont know why people say 'he dont go to the body anymore'. He was all over Jennings body, finally TKO'ing him via a bodyshot. Against Clottey he was actually going to the body (until the cut for obvious reasons). Im not too sure if he damaged goods, you just can't really tell. Jennins isn't exactly world class and Clottey he fought with a 4 inch gash above his eye. Lets see what happens come Nov.14!

This is right in as much as he cant steamroller the guys he's fighting now. But while Jennings and Gomez are a level below Cotto to say they have no talent ( or especially no heart ) is a bush league comment I wouldn't expect from someone like you Reg !

He's been faced with tough opponents that doesnt compliment with his fighting style. Doesnt mean anything. Pac will be smaller than him this time and he will probably try and impose his size on Pac. Pac has been in tough matches too, but it didnt mean he was in the decline...

Cotto is more resilient than fans will give him credit. He is younger than Manny has had tough spots in fights but the Margarito and Clottey fights were his toughest IMO. I believe those fights may have made him a hungrier fighter.

I agree! Cotto has a lot of heart and is a true warrior. The age isnt' really an advantage since both men are close in age but his size, strenght and power will be a nice advantage over PAC, who will himself enjoy speed, talent and ability advantages. So it's pretty even. The better man will win, bottom line, no excuses.

He showed against Clottey that his mental game is ok and Margarito ghost doesnt haunt him anymore

I don't believe he is DAMAGED GOODS....Not at all. I do believe that Cotto has some serious defensive flaws that were exposed early in his career against Corley and Torres.

And thats why all the fights after that were against "LIGHT PUNCHING" opponents that could not hurt him nor exposed his defensive "short-comings"....Branco, Malinaggi, Urkal & Quintana.

I GUARANTEE no-one in ESB especially Cotto fans never would have imagined Margarito destroying Cotto like that!! I know I didn't...I actually thought Cotto would destroy Margarito WITH EASE.

But his defensive flaws were exposed and so were his stamina issues...But with all that being said...I do not think he is DAMAGED GOODS.

In fact, If he can get past the first 4 rounds of the Pacquio HURRICANE AND TORNADO full of punches...I got Cotto winning late round (9-12) stoppage!!!
