Some guy called BAD LOSER starting a thread about how english commentators are biased ****s?

Its almost as if it were the ultimate trap for me to fall into!

Why? Cos in all my years I have.... no steady on, this thread is a wind up, Im sure of it!

I like the fact that Setanta commentators don't seem worried about plugging fighters that appear on Sky or ITV.

Last year everyone was talking about Hatton vs Castillo, but on Sky you never heard a peep about it because Setanta had the deal to show it.

Sky have the best lead in Ian Darke, but pundits are best on Setanta, with the exception of Glenn McCrory.

    Watt is grating, Nelson racist.

I'll second that Richie Woodhall is a great commentator. He is a great analyst and tells it how it is. Doesn't get too excited during the crux points of a fight, which is fine because I'm already doing that when I watch it.

As long as Setanta are showing the fights I don't mind so much who commentates. I think Bunce does a great job too and the presenter (Andy??) is growing into his role well.

I reckon in a few years no one will complain. It's mostly because people are used to the sky team. Change is always weird for a while.

And Bunce, good job at the Cardiff press conference! :good

ive no prob with woodhall, bunce and co, its just when they do the big fights from america they should use there own team-they sometimes use colnel BoB Sheridan the showtime commentator who in my opinion is really boring.. anyone agree that ian darke is the best commentator around!!

I agree i'm not a big fan of the american commentators, personally though I think both Sky and Setanta's british commentators are very good

I am not so sure about Woodhall, he just seems to agree with whatever the other guy says a bit too much.
As for Ian Darke, I think he is pretty good, he has good knowledge of previous fights and is quite entertaining. The one man I dont like to listen to is Jim Watt. That man is so negative. Picks the bad things that the fighters do and doesn't seem to understand that not all boxers had his class :nono

    I couldnt agree more.

Watt was an absolute beast of a fighter when he hit his prime, & I watched the Buchanan-Watt fight recently when Watt was the up & comer & Ken was at the peak of his powers & I had Watt edging it.

Watt is a smart man, but hes so paid off his opinions are worthless nowadays sadly enough.

Watt the fighter was a legend. Watt the analyist though is just another SKY talking head.
