Yes, as in Haye has more.

Vitali needs to stop opponents through accumulation.

Compare that to the shoulder punches and range-finding jabs he's throwing these days.

Vitali KO's his opponents by systematical beatdown, the volume of his punches takes it's toll in the later rounds (his recent KO's, discounting Solis, have all been past the 7th round)

Prime Vitali had more pop. Ask the likes of Hide, Johnson, Norris and others.

Agreed. Post fight Chisora said that he didn't see that first left hook coming, which is why it hurt him so much. Haye IMO is an extremely strong puncher with both hands, his left hook is actually pretty nasty, he regularly scores nasty knockdowns with that (Barrett, Valuev was put into la la land, and now Chisora who does have a good chin). It's the speed as you said. His punches are more devastating than Vitali's because of it and because he commits fully to every punch. As for Wlad hitting harder, possibly marginally, but not by much - Monte Barrett has said of Haye that 'He has power. He’s not heavy-handed, he just has a lot of pop in his punch. When he hit me it reminded me of Wladimir Klitschko. He has deceptive speed about his power and Klitschko has the same type of power in his punches. What I think is impressive of Haye is that he is a 210lb man naturally and hitting men who weigh 245-250 lb and knocking them out and/or badly hurting them, even with one single punch. That's a sign of a natural puncher.

Fairly sure if Wlad and Vitali would loadup swinging wild hayemakers they would generate a lot more power as well (well Vitalis shoulder might blow out but still)

I think Wlad generates simular or slightly more power while throwing clean straight punches, fairly sure he would generate a LOT more power than Haye if he would throw wild and throw his entire body into it.

He would also be very ineffective at the highest level that way much like Haye.

That isn't a loaded up punch he rocked Valuev with , its a wierd, off balance, one footed planted left hook

And FYI - throwing wild swinging haymaykers was what put out Vitali's shoulder

Also, throwing a technically perfect punch like Wlad pretty much = maximum power, hence that being the correct way to punch

When you improve your technique your power increases, it doesn't decrease

Vitali is an arm puncher or in other words not a hard puncher. In fact he is fundamentally flawed. Haye punches better than Vitali at this point. Faster, snapping shots. Vitali just clubs and paws and tops these guys late on their feet in a boring unsatisfying way.

Love this. Vitali is a natural and in the ring he WANTS to hurt his opponent and finds ways.
