No, the winner of the fight is NOT #1 p4p.

They are not even #1 and #2 IN THE DIVISION so how can they decide the #1 spot pound-for-pound??

Pound-for-pound is clearly a bullsh!t gimmick to hype fighters.

Ha anyone who doesn't already have Ward high in the p4p list doesn't know **** about boxing. Not much more needs to be said about that. Choclatito just got a gift and didn't look too impressive. So, yes the winner is p4p #1. Although that'd feel very weird to say about kkkov. But if he pulls it off he pulls it off.

Also you guys saying Wards scared etc etc. Dude beat Froch with one good arm, easily, and hasn't lost since he was 12. So you really need to do the knowledge before you said dumb jazz like that.

It is very rare to see top 5 P4P guys go at it at or near their primes without having to jump a bunch of divisions for it to actually happen - Delahoya/Trinidad, Mosley/Delahoya are the last I can really recall.

I'd say yes. Unless the fight ends in a bad decision, injury, or some other unsatisfactory way then I think the winner of this should be rated the best fighter in the world.

This is a rare case of two prime/near prime, undefeated, highly rated ,pfp, fighters meeting and whoever wins will be adding a great win on top of their previous accomplishments.

That it is indeed but that doesn't mean one beating the other vaults them into the #1 spot p4p.

P4p is so subjective it's impossible to say but if there is a clear winner, say a stoppage or a clear cut decision, I say yes the winner could be considered the best fighter right now

P4P is such a mythical thing.

There are a few fighters I can think of, who I think have done more but hype kicks in and if a big decisive win happens...

Fanboys love talking P4P. Makes them feel like "experts"...

Hell..one of the posters was saying Ward's wins 4-5 years ago are still good enough to be atop the list.

Well, they probably are the #1 and 2 at light heavy, but otherwise I agree.

Neither is a "pound for pound" better fighter than RG irrespective of the outcome when they fight.

Right. At his peak he was probably top 5 p4p (maybe even 3...can't remember offhand who else there was in the running behind May and Pac then) but now? Based on his recent body of work and form vis-a-vis competition faced? Meh.
