I think we should have a name change. Keep cruiser but call it heavyweight. Brings it in line with amateur boxing.

Anybody who can't make cruiser/heavy is a super heavyweight. Just like what we are seeing anyway.

No 180 to 210 is optimal. Cut the limit to 215 . Being about 190 will give fighters element of surprise along with accurate punching and more punches thrown.

This will rid the division of all these overweight big stiffs.It will also let cruiser weights compete ,who wants to see bigger punchers with better chins going at it? Ridiculous ,we don't pay too see sockem rockem stiff robots. The statistics are misleading, creating the cruiser weight division was just to collect more $$$.

 

No, keep it the same. The heavyweight champ is supposed to symbolize the best fighter in the world and a god among men or whatever they say. If that happens to be a 6'5" 250 lb fighter then so be it.

No. It's not like they are malnourished or starving themselves. They're at the weight they feel comfortable at. Plus, a 210-220 should have a conditioning edge over the bigger more muscled up shw. Regardless though a 210-220 pounder at its best is more than capable of beating a 250 pounder. Look at Cunningham vs Fury. Dude nearly knocked Fury out and he was a mediocre heavyweight. A natural 190 pound fighter.

 

That's because the trend is to bulk up at heavyweight. Tyson was a threat to everyone all throughout the 80s and 90s regardless of who he fought or how big they were and he was 5'10 217-219 at his peak. All we need is more good fighters, there just isn't anyone around.

 

Tyson only faced one and that was Lennox Lewis. Tyson fought him at the end of his career when he was arguably at his worst. Golota was his last good fight.

 

But he utterly dominated most fighters of that size that he fought prior to 2001

If a Klitschko beats him its because they're better, not because they're bigger.
