Do we need a troll block/ban for ESB?

We need it, but there is no logical way to impliment it.

What we really need is a very good and fair moderator. But I don't think we even HAVE one in the General Forum.

 

We've all tryed to get this before. I remember Decebal made a 'Troll Patrol' thread and it got deleted.

You could ask the admin to consider this.

In the mean time, I just use 'DISQUALIFIED' to respond to trolls, meaning they aren't worthy of a formal response.

Agreed. You know its getting horrible when you sign on only to find out that you even have PM's from trolls doing more trolling :-(

 

Troll are a part of message board forums and always will be. They are a fundemental part of it's dynamics. Many people even enjoy feeding the trolls, those who don't won't and are not truly affected by their presence.

 

Ignoring them works, but you're right, I'd like to see a "block list" in the control panel. I take it there isn't one?

 

I still think a good moderator could handle this forum. But we haven't been given one. And not one who is gonna ban people because he doesn't like their opinion. Thus the emphasis on GOOD....impartial, someone who actually cares about boxing AND the site.

I disagree. The forums would operate at a higher level without them. The classic forum operates at a much higher level than the general forum because they tolerate it less.

I don't even mean guys like Bigtime9, who is just a crazy fan.

I mean guys who put up threads simply to antagonize. I mean guys who start racial threads just to get a reaction. I mean guys who start threads about one fighter over and over just to criticize him and annoy others.
