I agree. GOOD moderators can make TONS of difference on forums like these. I worked on a website called totse.com as a moderator from 2000-2007. That website has upwards of 45,000 members. Moderating huge forums is difficult, and requires someone who actually knows what they are doing, not just someone who is impartial, and actually cares about boxing and the site.

Good moderating is a skill, and requires experience.

Not to pump myself up, but I'm positive I could do it as I have a lot of experience, but I couldn't see that happening as I am fairly new to thisim forum and not well known.

But I hope anyone who considers adding a moderator will consider my advice:

-Add more than one, two is the optimum number (so they can check each other).

-A moderator doesn't have to be impartial. Moderators should post and talk in the forum a lot, not just use their moderator powers. The best moderators don't even have to close threads, because they create an environment where there just isnt interest in spamming!

- Pick moderators who are EXPERIENCED at moderating.

- A moderator should of course be interested in boxing, and love the sport but a moderator doesn't neccessarily have to be an expert analyst!

People have different styles of moderating too, and its important to notice these.

Though frankly, I don't think this forum NEEDS moderators, though it would BENEFIT from them. There are a lot of silly threads out there... but for the most part their starters start them and really believe the points they make in them (Even if the majority think they are ridiculous). Spam is something that someone posts specifically to cause a problem.

 

Please I hope they start with MasterCalzaghe.The guy is a waste of oxygen

speaking of trolls did presscot get banned? i have'nt seen the any "oldman hoke lost to a white boy" threads from him.
