I think you do underestimate them, bunch of wankers that ye are:good

 

Usually I would under rate a British fighter more to do with how they progressed. Usually most fighters move on to the Euro scene without even taking on the main rival at domestic. Add into that the Euro level in some divisions don't even compare to the world level especially the lower weights. For example the fighters mentioned bests wins before the title shots I would say are:

Barker - Spada decent Euro level fighter beating by a contender in Zbik another fighter I don't really rate.

Macklin - The Fin who was on the down side of his career, a good win but it was expected.

Martin Murray - Probably the aussie guy who he easily out boxed.

Burns - Gomez who was past prime.

Chisora - Win over Sexton who was a good contender at Brit level but nothing more.

Based on that I wouldn't say fighters get under rated its just there isn't much evidence to say they can make the jump up and take out a title holder. Going from euro level to world level can be a whole other level and to the fans they usually haven't shown it against another genuine contender.

 

The best poster on the Aussie forum lets himself down because he is a notorious Fenech hater, downplays any achievement of the little Marrickville Mauler and constantly goes on about the Zarate fight, which has completely consumed and eaten him up. He's infected that whole forum as he's chief of the board of directors. I like many of the Aussie guys though, I occasionally venture over there and they've been very helpful and sorted me out with plenty of footage.

Just saw the thread title and tbh, ESB is ridiculous in regards to respect and such.


Apologies in advance, small rant...........i will have a look at the thread laters.

I have read, over/under then under/over.......if that makes sense........its ridiculous at times.

Anyways, as i says.......saw the title and just thought i would fire off.


Good thread am sure and personally...........ESB......as its the only community as such that i discuss in.......and tbh i log on to learn.......is a very harsh place.


How many times do you see known pro's etc question a fighter......on this board ?
