Do wins over Haye and Povektin in '09 get Wlad into the IBHOF?

Oh please! Byrd was over the hill and down the otherside.Chambers has beaten no one.Donald was over 245lbs for that fight ,and apart from an ancient Holyfield had beaten no one.Ahyunana is 37 and also has beaten no one.Wlad is fighting crap, I don't care where they are rated they are never wassers,or hasbeens or never going to bees.His fight with Ibragimov was a disgrace to boxing and the title he holds.Alphabet champions? Which means JACK ****.
If the division had any IRON in it they wouldn't be making such a big deal out of Haye!

 

Umm something to do with the fact you need to be retired for 5years to be in the HOF and Wlad will probably make it if he retired today. Then again Hamed, Eubanks, Benn should all be in by now too

Wlad became no1 (not undisputed champ) when he beat Byrd. His other wins have not been great 1s and were over decentish contenders which weren't much to write home about. His embarassing losses also hurt him.

But if he beats Haye and Povetkin then he would be taking out a new wave of prospects and hes in, especially if 1 is a big rival that test him as a fighter aswell as a boxer, maybe not in the first 5years but first 10 no doubt

 

The division is crap BUT thats hardly Wlads fault. Povetkin and Haye are the new wave of top challengers and like a real champ Wlad is taking them on. Unlike his brother Wlad's working hard to build a legacy, take on the top opposition and so far is doing a good job of it. I honestly think at 37, Vitali didn't fancy the Haye fight, Wlad could easily side step Haye and tell him to earn his ranking but he knows Haye is the best contender and is fighting him. I reckon Haye beats Vitali, not sure about Wlad

 

I like the Klitschkos they seem to be real intelligent nice guys ,but if you put both of their resumes together it wouldnt amount to much imo. I'm not blaming Wlad for the quality of the division,but neither am I rewarding him for beating recycled veterans and unproven tyros who have unbeaten records because they have been fighting my Granny.

Louis didn't have the most amazing resume either though, neither did Dempsey or Holmes really

I actually like the Klitchskos too believe it or not, especially as individuals they are classy and hard working, I just hate Vitali's god awful style and the biased KKK nuthuggers who know little about the sport

Wlad's resume doesn't have a stand out name but dominant wins over Byrd, Peter, McCline, Rahman, Ibragimov, Brewster rematch, Thompson, Brock are all good wins.

How do you see the Haye fight going McVey? On 1 hand I think Wlad is the technically better boxer, straighter sharper puncher and ofcourse bigger. On the other hand Haye seems a more natural fighter, more aggressive, more athletic at this stage. Both have the power to put the other man away. I'm leaning towards Wladdy

 

I give Haye a shot he is quick and can hit ,but he has been down a few times too,contrary to what most would probably say I think Haye should jump on Wlad straightaway,if you allow the big guy to dictate he is in his comfort zone and gets braver ,attack him and he loses confidence.

 

Haye will jump on Wlad straight away, but he can be too reckless and if Wlad counters him well. Haye also is a bit of a wide puncher. But he is very fast at throwing the right hand lead to counter the jab against straight up very tall textbook boxers and he is very fast at lunging in. Then again he hasnt faced 1 nearly this good. And Haye's hands down defense is easy to land on too, his reactions aren't half as good as he thinks they are. Haye also isn't good at close range or inside fighting but it wont matter here.

If he was in the 90s I'd see Haye getting murdered by Holy/Tyson/Lewis but against Wlad/Vitali he matches up nicely and both fights are intriguing 1s

 

After 12 fights Louis was meeting contenders ,and fringe contenders ,in his second year as a pro he kod 2 former undisputed Heavyweight Champs and 4 contenders.Louis had a very good grounding coming up. As Champ who do you think he avoided?
Louis was only kept away from one type of boxer , do you know what it was?

There are plenty of fighters still to get in before Wlad.

he's a white heavyweight champion thuogh so of course he'll get in.

 

Thats a really stupid comment, maybe you could back that up with a bit of evidence of racism by the IBHOF, I haven't seen any before.

 

Not to do with racism per se, he's just one of the only notable white HW champions we've had, and a dominant one at that. Notability accounts for a lot with the IBHOF apparently, moreso than ability/accomplishments it seems sometimes.

 

If Buchanan and McGuigan can get into the HOF, Wlad can.

 

I think he would get in regardless but those two wins would add a lot to his legacy and make him as a first entry.

 

If a black heavyweight champion had the exact same resume and accomplishments Wlad did, you can bet your ass he'd be a HOF fighter, too. :yep
