Do you agree Adamek should be the favourite against Arreola?

:huh No. Chris is not a small heavyweight...He's 6'4 and usually 250+. In what world is that a small heavyweight? No...not even these days is that a small heavyweight.

This a classic pick em fight... adamek is the p4p star who has ruled two divisions...arreola is the exciting hw who is on the comeback trail.

firstly adamek has fast tracked at hw, hes fought the faded gatekeeper and the younger gatekeeper in his first two fights. arreola is a live contender and bar solis is the hardest fight adamek could have picked.

adamek has the edge in skill and workrate

arreola has the edge in power and speed.

i think the key here is stamina, both are unproven stamina wise at hw since neither have had to withstand pressure for 12 rounds.

i know vitali stopped arreola but anyone who watched that could see that arreola could have carried on. it was a mercy stoppage like paulie vs hatton and peter vs vitali.

i think it will be a war until someone wilts first, i think that someone will be adamek.

No, Adamek should definitely not be the favorite.

I'm still leaning towards an Arreola victory myself, but I think Adamek has a chance.

One thing I will say is I have been to several Adamek work outs in the past and I have spoken to members of his team. The Arreola fight is one that they wanted pretty badly, even before the Estrada fight was finalized.

For whatever reason, Gmitruk and the rest of the team were eager about facing Arreola. Do they know something we don't?

    Time will tell.

The thing that worries me most is Gmitruk is no longer training Adamek. He's now working with both Ronnie Shields and Roger Bloodworth (and if I'm not mistaken, Bloodworth will be the head guy in the corner on fight night).

Bloodworth had a chance to work with Adamek a bit for the Estrada fight, and Shields & Bloodworth have co-trained other fighters together in the past, so they have a long history of working together as trainers. If this transition was smooth for Adamek, things could play out well for Tomasz.

If they can help improve Adamek's game, he will have a chance, but I think the absence of Gmitruk in his corner hurts him for this one.

    I hope I'm wrong.

I think Adamek will embarrass Arreola.

Fat ass needs to get down to 220 (maybe even 210) to succeed in boxing. If it wasn't for the division being to threadbare he'd never get near the top 10.

I think there will be some resemblance to Adamek's wars with Paul Briggs.

It will be brutal, it will be bloody. Briggs was probably a more skillful boxer than Arreola, and he had huge power for a LHW. But Arreola has more power still.

Adamek won those wars of attrition, because he was able to recover from Paul's bombs. Will he be able to fight through the same sort of punishment but with true Heavyweight power behind it? I think that the difference between a hard LHW and a hard HW will be everything, and Adamek will lose this one.

If he does win, it will have to put him high in the list of current heavies.

I think that Adamek is on that level and age, that he can fight without advices. Most comentators says that Adamek has the rare ability to adjust his fighting style when the situation in the ring changes. He is very smart in the ring, not robotic.

Arreola should be the favourite. Adamek in his recent interview claimed the plane crash tragedy affected his training and that he cannot concentrate as he is constantly thinking about the tragedy. He was invited to breakfest with the president after the fight with Arreola.

I would wait until the weigh-in to make my decision. If Arreola comes in at around the 230-240 range and looking in shape, then he could definitely keep up with Adamek and hurt him with the power shots.

But if Arreola comes in sloppy and out of shape, I think that Adamek outboxes him and takes an easy decision.

He is very strong mentally, I think that he can separate these things from training and fight.

I think that Adamek should be favorite, as he is far better boxer overall. Size matters, but there isnt big difference in size, and skill level matters too.

Even if Arreola comes in best shape I would still favour Adamek to win. Lets look back to the 90s. Evander Holyfield was fighting Riddick Bowe and gave him 3 tough fights. Now we have lesser size difference between fighters and bigger skill difference between Adamek and Arreola than between Holyfield and Bowe.

History and the past is always the thing that can be used to predict the future.

Arreola is the favorite IMO, and the experts agree.
