DO YOU AGREE with 117-111 from Burt Clements & 116-112 from Dave Moretti?

Can't complain with 8-4 but it's a joke to have Mayweather winning one more round?



Even if a lot of people had it 117-111 it still is seen as a close fight.


You can have a fight that is scored 120-108 and still be closer and more competitive than a 115-113 scoring.

It just so happened that in the close rounds people leaned toward Mayweather.

 

Definitely too wide and ridiculous. I had the fight 115-113 for Mayweather.

 

Giving Floyd rounds 2,3 and 4 as they did was as ridiculous as it gets

 

The range of acceptable scores for this fight would be 116-112 Maidana to 115-113 Mayweather. Wider scores in any direction is incompetent scoring.

I 100% agree with this.

Obviously some of those rounds, especially early on were close (like round 4.) But the rule of thumb in a championship fight is the champion usually gets the nod on the razor close rounds, especially if the fight is taking place in his backyard. That's the way it's been for as long as I can remember- to be the champion you have to usually convincingly beat the champion.

I had Marcos winning rounds 1, 4, 5 and 8. That was it. I thought FLoyd won the other 8 and most of the rounds he won seemed pretty clear and decisive to me.

So 116-112 sounds right to me. Have no problem with 117-11 or 115-113 if you want to score one of the rounds in either man's favor. But FLoyd definitely won that fight.

 

Voted agree for the 116-112 and to **** off pactwats, but 117-111 I really can't see.

 

Looking at the list of those who agreed with Morreti and Clemen's scoring, it looks like a list of the most hardcore of Mayweather fanboys.

...which when added together comes out to a 116-112 scorecard, so Dave Moretti for every round was in the majority (meaning one of the other two judges always sided with how he scored the round).

my biggest disagreement with that is round 4 because that was when the accidental headbutt occurred and after Floyd got cut that was when Maidana was best the whole fight to me was rounds 4 and 5, as probably Floyd was a little distracted then.

Pernick's scorecard is close to Moretti's than Clements' scorecard is (10 rounds match instead of Clements' 9.)

I had the fight 115-113 with Maidana getting 1, 4, 5, 8, and 11. I matched Clements' scorecard but also gave Maidana rounds 4 and 8. I don't really think any of the judges' scorecards are unfair. It was just a close fight with close rounds. 115-113 or 116-112 strike me as the natural score for the fight, but if you're a little slanted (in a non-corrupt way) toward either fighter it's understandable you'd see it 114-114 or 117-111.

Listened to Steve Kim and Gabriel Montoya on their Monday show and Kim said it best, saying that if Maidana wasn't up on the judges' scorecards after 5 rounds, he just wasn't going to win the fight.
