Do you agree with Haye that ring rust is an excuse/myth?

I know Haye talks a lot of **** but he often says he doesn't agree with ring rust. As long as you train hard and have what he describes as "good, quality sparring" there shouldn't be too much of a problem.

    Thoughts?

Agree if you're sparring you shouldn't have too much ring rust, think the problem is fighting infront of a crowd is hard to replicate and nerves kick in that sap energy in some fighters.

I think it depends on age life style how much poundage you put on between fights

If you are a gym nut eat great take care of yourself and dont have to many vices so to speak you will always be in great shape all yr, a good solid training camp should be able to bring back the boxing skill which are already there to begin with

i imagine each case is different

For those fighters that only train, for 6-8 weeks leading up to a fight! and disappear for months at a time, ring rust is real.

It's obviously a real thing, we've seen it too many times in the sport to say otherwise, it's just subjective
