Do you agree with Margo being as high as 5th or 6th on the P4P list?

According to the Ring Magazine, he is #5 and according to Boxing Scene, he is #6. Do you think that is about right? How about being rated higher than Kelly Pavlik who also is a stalker in the ring, has a high punch volume, throws heavy, and has impressive fitness at middleweight? Pavlik is rated on the two lists respectively at #7 and #9. Your thoughts on this...

Pavlik is better P4P than Margo, also Taylor was much better than Cotto when Pavlik took him down.

How can you say that? Margo has even better accomplishments than JMM at this point, winning the IBF and WBA titles back to back.

    :deal

Not true at all. I did think Taylor was a solid champ, but everybody and their mom was bitching about him at the time he faced Pavlik. Don't go building up Taylor now to justify Pavliks ranking. Cotto was a two division champ and has been a belt holder for almost 4 years. Even in Taylor's title winning efforts he was less than spectacular (much to hopkins credit though), and Cotto dominated every opponent up until he faced Mosley.

Agree Margaritos resume is just a step over pavliks. His only doubt is Paul Williams I hope by next year Margarito takes revenge I think hell take out Williams this time.

A draw and controversial loss to p4p #1 Pac, win over MAB, unified WBA/IBF FW champ, WBC/Ring SFW champ and 2 division champ vs Win over Cotto and WBA/IBF champ at 147 with failed attempt at 154. Easy decision for me.

Margo has a glaring weaknesss when it come to facing a big guy or a strong guy who can box....let me put it this way a prime Winky at 154 makes Margo look hapless. Margo can punch but he is not explosive and he is painfully slow. He has a very good chin but its presently being overrated because of the Cotto fight. It must be kept in mind Cotto was not an explosive puncher either, but a very good puncher who gets you through accumulation.

There is a reason why Williams and Clottey and Santos where having success,
Williams because of his size, Clottey because of his physical strength and size. Santos beacuse of the Combination of boxing skill and size. Margo is very good but his liability is speed and once he meets a slick fighter over 5'7" or a Qiuck fighter who is comparable in size or explosive he is done.

The Victory over Cotto is great because Cotto is a quality welter but he is also a guy who is much shorter in size and reach who isnt the most durable guy physically. The Hell Cotto can dish out isnt proportional to what he can recieve. I do not wish to downgrade Margos victory it certainly puts him in P4P status but I say 9 or 10 not 5 thats way too high with a man who really is one dimensional. He looks to outwill you and takes a decent punch against against smaller men. You will see this proven as Clottey and Williams and Maybe Santos are still out there Margos reign will be short lived. Remember that.

WTF, Taylor was the undisputed champ, which = best MW, Cotto was a belt holder who beat no one significant at 140 and has been rocked to many times to count. Pavlik is undefeated while Margo got a recent boxing lesson from Williams, no way in hell Margo should be ranked higher than Pavlik.

That was what JMM accomplished :yep then after that what?

I'm talking of recent accomplishments. JMM lost all his belts and title to Pacqauio on his recent fight. A win against MAB? Who barely beat Juarez?

What title does JMM has now?

I don't even think I'd put him in the top 10 p4p, great wins over Cotto and Cintron but the loss to Paul Williams keeps him out coupled with the fact that his problem with Williams was starting slow and he still started slow against Cotto.

Winky is a naturally bigger guy than some of Margarito's victims, but I wouldn't personallly agree with that. Margarito would infict alot of educated punishment to Winky's torso. It wouldn't be easy for Wright.

Cotto beat everyone that was put in front of him at 140 and was koing prospects and former champs on his way up to the title. He gave Maussa, Quintana, Pinto,, Torres, and Malignaggi their 1st losses and most of those wins were by brutal KO. I am by no means a Cotto fanatic. I rooted against Cotto many times, but he kept pulling though in impressive fashion. I would root for Taylor and he would dissapoint almost everytime and against jr middles to boot (I actually thoughtpinks should've gotten the nod). Just because you squeak by an old legend twice and own the "belts" doesn't make you the better fighter. That was the statement you made and Taylor was never more accomplished than Cotto.

Would you guys agree that Pavlik is just a stronger version of Margo?
