I was offered a bottle of Larry Holmes, vintage 1949 just the other day in a restaurant. I might've tried it except that it was described as having a subtle hint of jockstrap.

 

Seems to be a twist in the original assertion, the original assertion being that 88 Larry Holmes was perhaps less than (in net terms) than the Larry Holmes that fought several years later. Of course, it's possible for Holmes to have improved on his performance in 88 if one allows for his being inactive, ill prepared and not properly tuned in - which he arguably was, later in the piece, after the Tyson fight. I for one don't believe Foreman got better relative to his first career - but he certainly improved over the course of his comeback, naturally.

 

Not an aberration.
