Ford hurt Kholmatov badly in the last minute of the fight and managed to pull off a come from behind stoppage win with only 7 seconds left, but was it justified? You be the judge. Definitely Chavez vs Taylor all over again. This content is protected
Being that it was the first knockdown, I think there should have been a count. Now, if the first fall was counted as a knockdown and he was driven into the ropes like he was, then I would be fine with it being stopped.
Do I agree? Yes. 1 punch can change a mans/women's life.......possibly even end it. The dude turned his back while running to the nearest corner and there was 10 seconds left before the ref stopped it. Doesn't matter to me whether Kholmatov would've won, he did himself no favours there at all.
If the fight deserves to be stopped, it deserves to be stopped regardless of how much time is left. I just didn't agree with this particular stoppage.
Tough break for Bruce Lee. But, if he didn’t want it stopped He shouldn’t have got caught. that’s the chance you take when you are a crowd pleaser as opposed to a safety 1st guy sticking your tongue out & running around the ring to secure the victory. You just never know. I’m glad he is a crowd pleaser but it sucks to be him right now.
Nah it's BS. Looked like the guy was off balance to me and he'd been giving his opponent all he could handle for much of the round. The ref was looking for an excuse to stop the fight. If it came out that he'd been slipped a brown envelope under the table I'd not be surprised at all. This is as bad as the ref that stopped Lerena after he was getting hit with combos after the bell ffs.
On first viewing thought it was a good stoppage, not so sure after watching replays. However the referee has not got that previlige so yes
I want to ask someone sensible about this (yes, the forum is so ****ed up about this stuff that you qualify) and also I don't want to get into a lengthy debate about it, or talk to multiple people about it. So just give me an answer/correction and then i'll leave you alone. I think it was the eighth round where Otabek got into a tangle and ended up on the ground. It's hard for me to imagine a better opportunity for a corrupt ref to help the guy he's been paid off to help. That brown envelope claim is a hefty claim, and the referee waited until the final 10 seconds to reveal he had been paid off. Why wouldn't a corrupt, biased referee give that knockdown to Ford?
