    1.He was the champ
    2.He was still fighting back
3.He was in his own backyard
4.He can punch and 1 shot could change it in his favor

That tells you all you need to know.

The refs arent stupid they know he is supposed to win and he gave Juan Ma a chance but he kept punching instead of clinching and that last round his punches had nothing on them he was just throwing to throw. It was a matter of time before Salido landed another huge right hand and put him out for the count.
For gods sakes even after the stoppage he was still stumbling around for about 2 minutes. He was way out of it. His heart kept him in it.

The guys chin is shaky but we can not question his heart.

To he honest I was pissed off...
Salido was about to put JuanMa to sleep, Bringing back memory's of Azumah doing it to Gomez.

Orlando was robbed of his KO & Lopez was robbed of going out on his back.
So yes, the stoppage was bull****.

I felt the stoppage was early but the result was inevitable. I really don't know if that means it was a good stoppage or not.

I personally would not have stopped it at that point, but the ref did not cost Lopez the fight.

indeed. the chances of Lopez making out of that round were pretty slim, but since this is boxing... any chance, no matter how small could make all the difference so while I'm pretty sure Lopez was going to get KO'd, you can't help but wonder what if the ref didn't stop the fight. Since I was rooting for Salido, I'm also bummed that he was denied having a win w/ no question asked.

Watch JuanMa being held to remain on his feet 2 minutes after the stoppage and wonder if it came a few punches too late. He was practically out on his feet a dozen punches before the stoppage, moving his hands on instinct (instead of grabbing or taking a knee) just created a false illusion for the one-time viewer he was still there. He wasn't. He needed to be protected from himself and maybe he wouldn't have suffered THIS loss if he was protected from himself vs. Mtagwa. He took a hellatious beating there and never looked the same since. Shame on anyone wanting to see more blood.

1.He was getting his ass kicked all threw the fight.
2.He was not even hurting Salido at all.
3.He was going to be stooped anyways.
4.What's the point of taking a longer beating????

No. I would've waited for the KD.

    However:

    He wasn't moving.
    He wasn't clinching.
He wasn't keeping his gloves up to avoid the punches.
Salido was coming at Juanma like a hobo whose first lunch in a week had just been stolen.

It's not like Juanma was going to come back from a fight like that, he was being outboxed in a humbling fashion.

I think JMLs chin and defense cost him the fight. I never saw the REf punch JML. That right hand was landing repeatedly and everytime it landed JML seemed bothered by it.

Before the fight i had said JML would beat Salido in a UD with a few scares here and there. After the 2nd round if you look at the RBR i mentioned JML was not taking the punches well and this was starting to resemble Cotto-Margarito.

Did you guys as fans seriously want to see JML out sucking wind? It would have been a great highlight but come on. The dude couldnt balance himself minutes after the stoppage.
