Do you agree with the stoppage?

  1. I think it was the right choice.

Awful timing and the sort of thing that makes me wonder why I follow this sport....then I watch a fight like Miura/Thompson and remember why I love it...*sighs*

Tony Weeks. Referee of Castillo Corrales... just stopped the fight in this manner? wtf?!

A fighter knows the risks & he takes the risks. Why take all that punishment to be stopped early? it sucks.

This whole fight was wierd Canelo starting fast early and losing steam by the 6th (bad idea) Angulo doing absolutely nothing.. then the weird stoppage.

    No.

It's true that Perro took a pasting out there, but that wasn't the time to stop it. If he took another couple of those that round showing he wasn't there anymore then fine, but this looked very British.

    Right choice, wrong time.

Angulo looked far more steady after taking that uppercut than he had taking other power punches. At the very least, he should have allowed Canelo to follow up to see if Angulo was capable of making some sort of attempt to defend himself.

That said, a stoppage was in the cards at some point soon, methinks. That particular moment is what's in question.

Great choice. Look at the Angulo interview. Both eyes are swollen shut.

i do. angulo was never in contention ... he did not seem overly hurt or anything but after 8 rounds of continuous punishment and his eyes cut and closing did we really want to see more?

It so appears that Oscar's money cow won the fight, just like he wanted..........I knew better than to buy this fight. It won't be long until Oscar will be charging $100 per PPV, with a crappy under card and and a crappy, prefabricated main event. There are much better fights on regular HBO, Showtime and EPIX..............

yes. no need to take any more shots than he did do. good call by the ref.

Hunter wasn't going to stop it. his rep was on the line so took a selfish view of the fight.

Angulo did not deserve another 2 or 3 rounds of punishment, Tony Weeks did what a ref is paid to do.

They should have stopped the fight early and given the fans their money back.............this was not PPV worthy...........
