Jesus...at least carry on until his brain takes enough punishment to produce a bleed. God it's boxing, brain damage is what we wanna see right? ****ing barbaric ****s. Anyone who thinks the ref should have let it go on is a bloody thirsty animal.

The fight had to be stopped at some point but I thought the timing was questionable seeing how close it was to the over/under 9.5 betting lones. I'm not suggesting anything though.

I had no problem with the stoppage. Angulo had very little success in the fight and what little he did was due to Canelo taking the round off. He never had Canelo hurt and was only going to get beaten up for another couple of rounds. Better to save him from an unnecessary beating and be able to fight another day.

I don't know if it's because I'm getting older or what but I for the first time ever watching boxing found it difficult to watch after a while. I mean I don't have a problem with violence but Angulo was clearly brought in to take a beating and had no chance of winning at all and I guess I don't care to watch an overmatched limited fighter take bombs for entertainment. I hope he's happy with the money he made because he definitely earned it. Angulo got his ass beat pretty bad. I hope he hangs them up because he's not good enough for the level he's fighting at.

I felt it was a quick stoppage at the time but common sense says that when you can't see or react to avoid or stop a shot like the that final uppercut that nearly put Angulo's nose bone through his brain then it's time to call it a night before some serious damage is done. Either way Canelo was clearly winning.

In my many years as a baseball/softball coach there was always this saying that, the umpire is always right. In boxing, as in all other sports, it's the umpire or referee's call. He is the one getting paid to make the decision. Therefore, he calls 'em as he sees 'em. And if he says the match is over, then (right or wrong), it's over.

I probably wouldn't have stopped it personally, but I don't think it was a bad decision.

Canelo won every round and was landing big shots with ease. Angulo landed nothing of note. What's the point in allowing the guy to get brain damage?

Augulo got hit like that so many times in the fight before the stoppage took place. It was bull**** stoppage. Tony weeks should not try to immulate Richard Steel.

The ref`s job is to protect the fighters. At first while watching the fight, I didn`t agree with the stoppage. Looking at it a few times afterwards, I am in agreement with the stoppage because it was the 10th round and theer was no way his winning the fight. Canelo did look as if he were tiring, but Angulo didn`t have much on his punches even thpugh it did appear he was coming on stronger. So yes, I did agree with the stoppage. Tony Weeks is a good ref.

Angulo was getting manhandled in there nearly every second of every round, he ate some hellacious shots in the first rounds and couldn't get to Canelo at all.
It was a brutal shot and at this point it was quite clear that there was no chance for Angulo to come back into the fight.
He should thank the ref for protecting his health and doing his job.

    The audience was a disgrace...
Booing Canelo out of the building after a virtouso performance that he deserved all the praise for. Is this a new trend?
First Froch now Canelo, as if it was their fault that the refs became a little cautious since the Abdusalamov-incident.

Bloodthirsty crowds like that kill boxing.
It was clear as day who was the better man and deserved the victory, yet the audience wanted more blood and spectacle.
I think some of them are not to be satisfied unless somebody gets severly hurt or dies in the ring. And whos fault is it then?
Exactly. The incompetent refs fault. I hate this hypocrisy.

They should have stopped the fight before it even began. I did not buy the fight because it smelled, and now I am very happy I did not buy it..............boxing is a crooked sport.............
