Angulo was taking a beating. It was the right thing to do. If that fight was in England it woulda been stopped in the 5th. LOL

The card was indeed poor. Glad I didn't pay for but my friends weren't happy.

Its the type of stoppage where one should'nt really complain simply because it was a mismatch of a fight.
Having said that, that punch was'nt much different than alot of other punches Angulo had taken. Angulo even had woken up some and had fought the two previous rounds.

I cant complain, but I certainly would not have stopped it. Angulo was nowhere close to being badly hurt by Canelo.

I wouldn't have stopped it, but I don't think it was the greatest travesty in the world.

Similar kind of one sided beat down in Pacquiao-Margarito. That fight was not stopped even though it was unwinnable for Margarito after a certain point. The ref gave Marg the honour of finishing… yet it turned out that that fight really should have not been allowed to go the distance as we later learned that Margarito had sustained a fracture to his eye socket that could have threatened his sight in one eye.

Referee was probably acting with that kind of thing held in mind — the concern being of latent damage from taking so many head shots
