When and under what circumstances did you meet him.

Going back to the thread topic.

I agree that Berto is a fan friendly fighter like Max says... usually because he's putting up an effort while getting his a$$ kicked.

Berto is actually underrated by boxing fans ever since he was rumored to be a Mayweather opponent (as usual), but before that I would say that most respectable and consistent posters rated him proper. Very clearly outside the top 10 at WW and not particularly a notable lingering threat to anyone inside it. But Berto is not some "garbage bum fighter who never did anything in his boxing career and sucks," which is what the usual suspects are acting and claiming now.

I don't even care to listen to what Abel was saying so I didn't watch that one. The title implies he feels Stevens hits harder than Lemieux? Yeah, suuuuuure, we so totally believe you. Stevens the toe twitching tap dancer actually does pretty much suck (especially given the agenda-driven hype built around him the moment he was rumored to be a Golovkin opponent; Curtis Stevens was never a top 10 MW in my eyes, sorry, KO'ing that Saul Roman doesn't do that for me even when the division was/is weak, it wasn't that weak).

When Kevin Johnson and I went to Big Bear to work with Damian Wills, and a couple other heavyweights about 2 to 2 1/2 years ago...!!!

Kevin was in negotitations (once again) to fight Solis, and the fight may have taken place in Denver, New York or Florida.

So to get accustomed to the high altitude, we went to Big Bear....and I was also there to visit family in California...!!!

Abel's fighter in that fight was Mike Perez. Mago was trained by JDJ.

Cant say I blame you. Also, I think I get what turns you off about Abel. There is a certain something about him, it just doesn't bug me much - because not much does as long as I don't actually have to deal with the person for anything.

As far as trainers go, the one with the best personality IMO is probably Ronnie Shields. Used to listen to his blogtalk segment a lot, he seems like a pretty cool dude.

Yeah...Its hard to put your finger on, but its something under the surface that bugs me about him.

Berto throws lots of punches, could give Void a good fight. Void should fight Golovkin at 154, since Void holds the 154 title, but will not defend it.......................Khan would have been better than Berto, Berto can't punch hard, so that makes Void happy................
