Do you agree with this statement regarding Manny Pacquiao?

  1. My friend Kristen thought Floyd Mayweather was a basketball player.

"What team does he play for?"

If PAc retired today, or after he beats Margarito...he would not belong in the same sentence as the aforementioned. Pac has to beat Floyd to become a legend. Only then will he at least be mentioned with those guys in the same sentence, and even then...Pac never ranks above those guys...EVER!!! I have Pac ranked lower than 60 now because of the catch weight fights, and being ko'd twice in 3 rounds...and losing to a faded Morales.

Pac represents the Filipino culture. What culture that is global in nature does Ali represent? The closest thing that I can think of is "boxing". If that is your answer, do you honestly believe that he is the face of boxing?

I didn't say that. What I said was that Pac is a greater cultural icon than Ali simply because he represents an entire culture...an entire nation. While Ali may be known as a great boxer, he, to me, isn't the face of boxing.

He is. That's the trouble with morons. They're not smart enough to realize how stupid they are. Then they lecture people who are far more well-travelled than they are about needing to see more of the world. It's hilarious.

He's appropriately named though. I've never heard so much bollocks.

The important thing is that he represents the face of this generations's boxing.

To surpass those icon like SRR, SRL is a matter of history which will be decided in the future.

It owuld however be a joke if this generation would be represented by Gayweather.

That is the bottomline. And you are a *****.

I will guarantee this (I will take bets in time capsule), 10 years from now, he will be as highly regarded as the two.

You keep mentioning boxing, Ali is bigger than boxing, ALi is the biggest sports icon in sporting history. He has been voted sportsmen of the century a number of times in various countries including the UK. Do you even understand how big that is?

  11. Ali is not the face of boxing. Being the face of something usually means you're active. Michael Jordan (the best player in the history of the game) is not the face of basketball right now. Babe Ruth is not the face of baseball right now. Marlon Brando is not the face of cinema right now and so on and so forth.

Ali is NOT the face of boxing right now.

Why are you adding in right now? You kids are to funny. You think a couple of big ppv buys from floyd and pac makes them the face of boxing?

7 out of 10 average joe's across the world wouldn't even know who they were. Ali is as popular as Michael Jackson, do you even understand the length of this man's popularity. I feel embarrassed for even having to explain it to you. Ali is bigger than boxing. He is the biggest sports star to ever live. Whether he knows it or not.

  14. Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, and Babe Ruth are all bigger than Ali. They were part of mainstream, family-friendly sports. Boxing has never been bigger than baseball or basketball.

If Ali's involvement with Vietnam never happened, he wouldn't have become the icon he is. This is not taking away from Ali, but you're on ****ing crack if you think that Vietnam didn't catapult him into the global eye and is responsible for his image today.

Why do you think no one outside of boxing knows Sugar Ray Robinson?

    :patsch:patsch:patsch:patsch:patsch:patsch

I read that first statement and had to stop. I'm done with you. Any more messaging back and forth with an idiot like you would make my brain cells melt even further.
