Do you approve of Wladimir Klitschko fighting Odlanier Solis on April 6?

Typing in the words "if Solis is in shape" nets you 1140 results in google.

Pretty much says it all doesn't it?

Povetkin probably ducked once again. What im not happy with is acually Solis not fighting anything or anyone and still gets the shot. But I guess no one wants to fight them since they cleaned up the divison.

There are acually a few contenders im intrested in. Haye, Price, Fury, Povetkin, Pulev, Helenius. I mean there are decent match-ups to be made but the contenders always want to wait.

 

Solis knee blew out as a result of his legs buckling from a shot to the temple. He was knocked out in round ONE. Having success in the olympics does not make you a good pro.

He isn't a credibile opponent for the likes of Pulev, Haye ,Adamek, Povektin, Fury etc and they would likely come under criticism if they were to face him. Those guys are involved in better and harder fights than the Champ. K2 skipped evey teir in the division and went straight to the bottom to get an easy fight. If Bontey didn't pay so many handouts into the boxing world , Wlad would been stripped long ago.
Champs are meant to fight the best , not the worst.

Mayweather, Ward, Froch could all fight beyond 20 ranked nobody's 3 times a year for the money but they have their names they want to upkeep. Wlad's legacy is already shot to complete **** so he couldn't give more of a ****.

People like to think their stand up guys and respectabe when giving the clean cut Klitschko's credit , in reality k2 create slave contracts to deter top opponents, make up their own rules in the ring, dont give a **** about the fans, and will milk them dry till they throw in the towel.

As far as who would be a better opponent: There are a number of HW's who would have a shot at beating Wlad, right now. They'd be underdogs, but they'd all bring something to the table:

Boytsov, Fury, Price, Pulev, Jennings, Mago, Wilder, Charr, etc. Any one of these guys probaly has a better chance, IMO, than Solis. The only reason they all seem "unworthy" is because they haven't fought each other.

So imagine if they did. Eight guys right there. They fight 2 fights each as an eliminator, and in 6 months you have 2 of them "ready" for Wlad, and no one would question this.

Would these 2 be significantly better fighters than they are right now? No. They simply would be the 2 best, with the others weeded out. SO, any one of them would serve as a decent opponent RIGHT NOW as well. It's just a matter of perception.

These creampuffs have to start actually fighting.

Povetkin and Sauerland must be pissed, but at the end of the day this guarantees a big stadium bout for Wlad - Povetkin in the summer.

Contradict yourself much? How do you know he wouldn't be in shape for the biggest fight he'll probably ever have? And how can you defend the likes of Mormeck and Wach, but not accept an Olympic gold medalist who is clearly more skilled than 99% of the rest of the division?

The division is and has been in an awful state for awhile. I wouldn't pick Solis to win even if he came in great shape. But he's as worthy as Wach or Mormeck and infinitely more talented. If he gets the fight he'll be in shape. I don't think Solis would just half ass this opportunity because it could likely be his last if he doesn't come in 100%.

 

I'd be happy if Solis committed to a diet, but he won't, so I'm not.

Öner has said before that he was paid an extra 300k EUR (400k USD) for signing a rematch clause with K2. He didn't have to sign it because his fighter was a mandatory challenger, but he was paid to sign the extra clause for the extra paycheck.

 

Vitali knocked Solis out with a right hook to the temple in the very first round, had nothing to do with Solis' leg, it was Vitali's right hook. I have seen the fight in slow motion a billion times.................Vlad will knock Solis out also...........
