Canelo is solid. He's got a good chin.

Biggest punchers Canelo has faced were Cotto, Kirkland, Angulo.
Angulo and Kirkland were faded versions. Cotto was noticeably smaller. I think Canelo can take Jermall Charlo best shots. Canelo chin will be tested at 160

Canelo can go up to LHW no doubt. He's like 180+ when he fought Khan. He can take a punch.

I don't think so. His chin durability seems to be average, but you have to factor in his weight. He's cutting a lot to make 154-155 so you could argue that he's weight drained and he has a great chin or you could argue that he's only able to take these shots because he's a big man fighting opponents that are significantly smaller than him. It's too early to tell. He hasn't been in the ring with a solid puncher yet. When I saw him get buzzed by Liam Smith I stopped being a believer in his ability to take a punch, but you could defer to my earlier points for an argument against that.

Truth of the matter is that we don't have enough information yet.

It was like in the 6th or 7th round. He wasn't about to get knocked out or anything, but he was affected by it.

We also have to breakdown what I mean by buzzed. I'm not saying he was in danger of being KO'd and had to be on his bicycle. I just mean he was hurt and clearly affected by the punch.

I'll watch it again soon and tell you guys exactly the point I'm referring to. Again, it isn't an "Oh **** Canelo is about to be out!" moment. More of a "Canelo can't walk through all of his shots outright" moment. The reason I bring this up is because Liam Smith isn't a guy that is known to carry dynamite in his hands. That's also why I'm using this as evidence for him having an average chin/punch resistance and not anything below average.

At this point on his career, many top fighters were knocked down against lesser fighters, so props to him for proving a best chin so far, in the other hand, he hasn't faced a top puncher in his life, Angulo and Kirkland are both good, but he took their souls before the could connect anything of significance.

His chin has yet to be truly tested, Cotto and Kirkland have never been able to KO world class fighters, Angulo collapsed the night before his fight with Canelo, enough said. We've never seen him in with a guy with frightening power. So its still a question mark.
