Do you believe Deontay Wilder when he says he wants to be undisputed?

Im talking about the other person who hates Wlad and has become Wilders *****.

 

Now you're arguing semantics because you were proven wrong lol. Wilder confronted him with the intention of building interest in a fight. Where was Joshua's supposed massive security detail at the open workout, the weigh in, post fight etc? There was time and place for making it happen and he chose to go after a CW instead.

 

I'll believe it when Wilder starts fighting elite competition. He can't be blamed for Povetkin, but he can still fight Joshua, Ortiz, or Parker. Anybody other than those three and he should have to give up that WBC belt, since he hasn't fought a threat in almost three years.

 

Sure he wants to, his ego has slowly but surely become bigger than his brain. Problem is his handlers are a bit more level-headed than Deontay himself. They know if is a knockout waiting to happen and putting him in a fight with any top 10 boxer could be the end of Deontay's zero. So they keep milking his belt vs. no hopers from Boxrec #50 or lower until they get an offer for a $15 million+ fight.

Imagine that: Deontay makes purses of $1-1.5 million per fight! He is NOT a draw! Can anyone imagine how much his managers dream of a massive payday? They've never had a big one in 5 title fights! Until then they won't take any risk whatsoever.

 

yes. having to fight those that dispute him is where the problem arises.

 

no idea. no evidence there is any. like i said in a different thread, looks like all the hw's are going to avoid good match ups next. sad when they where all available. no excuse for having more than two titlists four months from now. one undisputed by years end or early 2018.

 

I was just looking and I can't see anywhere the youtube vid between AJ and Wlad calling each other out and accepting, strange..

Fights are not made via youtube vids or stage managed meets that is just fluff.

If his team was serious they would have had unification fights by now...

No, I do not believe Wilder wants to be undisputed...................he wants to fight voluntary title fights provided for him by the WBC, his protector..............

Yes i believe Wilder wants to unify and has full faith in his ability to do so. But then i also believe his team and promoter do not have the same faith in his abilities and are more worried about him losing the 1 belt he possesses rather than letting him loose to try get any others.

Ive always said he reminds me of skrappy doo "let me at em let me at em" and his team are shaggy and scooby who are scared of old man Povetkin or old man Joshua who is pretending to be a ghost at the fairground. And ofcourse the WBC seems to be helping drive them in the safest direction.

 

What unificiation fights should he have had?

 

I would accept Deontay's terrible matchups if he used them to improve and actually showed improvements. But the way he's going he could be fighting till 50-0 and still not have more than a punchers chance against Joshua cos he's not improving at all as a fighter

 

Povetkin would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for those pesky testers.

 

I think Wilder's actually devolved as a fighter. He no longer throws his jab with authority, can't seem to pick his shots as well, and has become a lot easier to close distance on and tag. Or maybe Stiverne was just the perfect opponent stylistically to make him look good and what we're seeing now is Wilder's flaws getting exposed by fighters who actually know what they're doing.

Wilder might already be past prime, or (more likely) so enamoured of his own sense of greatness that he's stopped learning or developing things in the gym.
