I believe him. PBF has perhaps the highest or one of the highest Ring IQ’s in recent times. The adjustments he made in fights were unreal.

 

Part of me believes him but then there's the other part that knows he was just so instinctive, and it's essentially impossible to be that instinctive a fighter without putting in serious time.in the film room on your opponents.

This is how I always perceived it too. He wanted us all to think he was just that talented and that his opponent wasnt a concern to him. His careful and calculated decisions lead me to believe otherwise.

 

Floyd man, beating his chest like a beast one time I seen him on an interview where he had a spat with senior. This guys mind was lucid (never used drugs) and his conditioning was never a problem (never smoked) also he was good at staying out of trouble (no drinking). Other than brittle hands, he had the obsession and compulsion to be what he is; proud champion who taught himself to box and did his road work at wee hours of the night.

It happens I think . Some guys leave it to the trainer to watch the fights and devise a gameplan.

 

Of course he has seen them on tape on TV but he never studied them that was the job of his trainers to study them and come up with the strategy for Floyd to execute and adapt as necessary.
