Is this one of the reason why PAC wants to fight Floyd and Floyd wont fight him because PAC has low PPV nos. and dont want any business with Arum? Well, here he goes again. Even Floyds fans knew that these were just smokescreen to avoid the Pacman. Notably, the issues raised here by Floyd were recycled. He had been saying before right after he parted ways with Top Rank that he will never work with Bob Arum again, and yet, he was bragging before that he really did signed the contract to fight Pacquiao, although he cant show any signed contract during the early negotiations for the bout. During the first negotiation, the issue on Manny being under Top Rank was never mentioned. Floyds demands then were rbt and purse split. We could notice that whenever an issue had been resolved, Floyd will bring back the PPV and Pacs being with Top Rank topics. Floyd back step into these two issues whenever his demands were met or issues were agreed. On Pacs alleged problem with the IRS, this only showed Floyds affection for gossips. Firstly, the alleged tax delinquencies were for years 2006 to 2010 amounting to 18 million dollars. This content is protected Pacquiao camp had already made statement regarding this which denied the reports, citing that they were just a part of a smear campaign that was meant to destroy the boxer. Accordingly, Manny and his financial advisors are handling the situation and have no comment other than to say the disclosure of Mannys personal tax information is wrong and the recent stories contain serious errors.
Myabe not the full 18 million, but there does seem to be something to be some degree of dispute about his taxes and the IRS. Here's what Koncz had to say about it, from a recent article. "When you file taxes in America you have to itemize every deduction and there are four areas of tax deductions that is being disputed between us and the IRS. Its not a question of earnings its a question of allowable deductions," Koncz explained to Ronnie Nathanielsz of Philboxing.com. "One of the deductions being contested is the airfare of people whom we buy tickets for to come to the fights. Another issue is whether signing bonuses are taxable or not taxable...these are the issues at hand and its very simple. We have very competent accountants handling our taxes and a competent tax lawyer and this should be resolved shortly...if they disallow all our deductions then perhaps they are there. But that's not our tax liability. We are not going to come anywhere near that....we know we are going to end up owing some additional taxes but it will depend on what the tax appeals court will allow us to deduct and what they won't allow us to deduct." Combine this with what Vision quest had to say during it's investigation of Manny's finances and yeah I do wonder about what problems he may have. Also interesting is arum's apparent silence on this matter, compared to when the BIR in the phillipines raised an issue about manny's taxes. Regardless of what we may believe, however, it's either true or it's not.
There may be some validity to it. Visionqwest dug up a lot of evidence of bad bookkeeping going on, before they were dropped for no good reason. Point is that fight will not happen as long as Pac is with Arum...too much bad blood. Floyd chased that fight in 2010 and it was too difficult to get the terms he wanted...so he moved on. He simply does not need it now...from a marketing and financial standpoint. From a legacy standpoint, I personally think Pac is the one name he needs to get on his resume, in the win column, before he retires.
