do you believe in PPV fighters, or PPV events?

The TV companies, who in turn get their money from advertises. The more watch, the more they charge the advertises. That's how it worked in the old days, I assume.

 

If that's the case, you still have to pay for the tv channel and in the end it's not free after all.

 

I do not believe in P4P fighters and I do not believe in PPV! PPV will soon go up to 100 dollars....................Alvarez vs. Smith not worth watching for free...............

 

I believe in streaming ppv fights for free! Po 'a future is in jeopardy as more and more people will bypass paying for the fight and simply stream the fight on their 70 inch tvs.

 

If you subscribe to HBO or Showtime, then every fighter you see on those networks is a PPV fighter.

 

Tremendous fights have been on PPV and sold poorly.

Horrendous fights have been on PPV and sold well.

If you are not a PPV fighter, they try to test the waters with a PPV event. The fighter hopes to break through. Because "PPV events" don't happen too often. And if they do well or break through, they are now a PPV fighter. If it doesn't take off, they're hoping for the next PPV event. Repeat from above.

Ideally this isn't the case. But boxing fans have long struggled to grasp the notion that we don't live in an ideal world. Especially the boxing world.

No. It's BS.

 

no. it's just effect of marketing. not even majority of all ppv fights were super fights or became spectacular. it's like selling expensive products and mostly turned out fakes. especially floyd's big money fights which seemed to be the peak of the sport's corruption from judges, referees, drug tests, the commissions, sport's media,etc.

 

Very few fighters are PPV worthy fighters, on top of that very few PPV events are PPV worthy. That being said, until recently, I purchased most PPV fights, there were a few here and there that I didn't. I think my PPV boycott really started in earnest with the Floyd/Berto fight (to date, still haven't seen it).

 

I never pay for PPV for different reasons but I believe the boxing world should revolve around being a PPV star. That's just re****ed
