Do you believe it when someone insists that Pacquiao may be some kind of puppet to Bob Arum?

I Don't. If anything I feel it would be far more likely if Arum were Pacquiao's puppet. (although this probably isn't the case)

Yes he is Arum's puppet. Most fighters are to their powerful promoters. Pac's more guilty than the others, though. He's fought his way to the top and is in a position where he should call the shots for himself. Mind you, we don't know how deep Arum's claws have been dug in him for him to get where he is now.

What makes you think a man with Pacquiao's political connections and stroke could have "Arum's claws dug into him" in any significant way?

Pac hasn't always had these political connections. He's had to use Arum's help to get where he is today. When it comes to boxing, he's got a lot of control over him. ****, aren't Top Rank/Arum involved in helping to sort out/advise with his tax problems, too?

Yeh, the fact pac signed to GBP and TR shows that he is probably easily manipulated

Pac knows this hence "speak to my promotor"

Pac has long term ambitions outside the ring and his time in the ring will soon be over. Arum has more skill at making money than Pac so wisely Pac has given Uncle Bob free reign to make as much money for both of them in Pac's remaining ring time, so when Pac's finished he'll have enough money to follow his political ambitions.

Manny don't care bout boxing no more, he's looking out for his future. He can go down as a historical Pinoy Legend, a true national hero if he can climb further up that slippery Phillipino political pole.

Pac's tax issues are related to his other businesses in the Phillipines - not his boxing income.

Anyways....what could Arum due to help Pac resolve his issues? Arum has no political stroke in the Phillipines.

    Yes, I know....

...but I read somewhere that Arum's lawyers will help advise him.

Absolutely Arum is the one pulling the strings. You only have to see how Marquez went from being a 'not-viable' opponent who apparently wasn't a big enough name (pre-Mosley) to being a choice suitable for making a "classic, classic match". Marquez III would have sold great without the Mosley fight ever having taken place. That, and the constant "wanna fight Pacquiao? Sign to Top Skank".

Unfortunately I believe so. We really do have to keep in mind the possible depth with which Arum has entrenched his own enterprising schemes into Pacquiao's life, as UR said.

Pac has outgrown arum, to the point where he could be freelance, like mayweather, yet he still let's arum call the shots.
