dropped? not sure. Hurt? Yes. Fury really struggles to pick up the southpaw left hand. Opetaia has a hard and fast southpaw left. I have little doubt that prior to the first Usyk fight when Fury was using a low guard, he was caught by some clean lefts from Jai.

Enough to drop him? Not sure. Usyk only dropped him after wearing him down for 9 rounds. I don't necessarily think Jai dropped him unless it was a flash knockdown. But i do think Fury's habit of keeping his hands low and relying on reflexes does not work vs fast southpaws. As such, i am certain Jai hurt him with his left but probably didn't drop him.

I mean, he probably hits harder than Usyk, he’s a fast southpaw, and Fury keeps his hands low too often. I could see a flash KD happening.

except, aren’t the sparring partners supposed to pull the punches a bit? I know **** happens, but still.

Looking at Fury's last fight... I don't want to say it was easy... but Usyk at times was lighting him up and bouncing his head around without a lot of difficulty. Theres no way in the world somebody as fast, explosive, and sudden as Opetaia who is just young and deadly unlike the old Usyk Fury fought was not hitting Fury with those same kinds of shots too.

Ngannou is huge compared to Opetaia, and in the UFC, was known as a huge hitter. Fury should never have been caught by him like that, but point being, Ngannou unquestionably has the power to spark pro heavyweight boxers.

he arguably lost that fight. that size and mma record meant **** all against aj, and i'm sure jai has the power to put any hw on his ass if he can catch him like francis caught fury. it does not surprise me at all that ANY of furys sparring partners would be able to drop fury in hard sparring.

Why would they pull their punches?? They spar to get ready for a fight and since they won’t pull their punches in the fight they won’t do it in sparring leading up to a fight.

I believe Fury got dropped in sparring. **** happens and we don’t know the circumstances, Fury could have been dead tired and already sparred X amount of rounds and Jai came in fresh, stuff like that happens all the time.

Many yrs ago when I was training for my pro debut a former champion came to the gym and wanted to spar. He didn’t take me seriously at all and was playing around, doing a lot of silly things you shouldn’t, after a few rounds I started to catch on to his silly games and doubled up on a right hook (he only expected 1) and I dropped him. It was a great feeling but I wasn’t delusional, if it would have been a real fight he wouldn’t have played around. We continued to spar many times after that, but he was laser focused so I never dropped him again.

Fury got dropped by Steve Cunningham, who despite being a great boxer/athlete, can't punch through a paper bag. Also, it's sparring, people get clipped in sparring it happens. No reason to not believe it.

Ngannou's punches looked really really slow and sort of swipey/slappy to me

If Neven Pajkic and drop and hurt Fury I’m sure Opetaia can.

Opetaia doesn't have the footspeed or precision of Usyk

Usyk hardly landed at will did he. Only after 6 rounds did Fury feet slow enough do Usyk to be able to start landing his left hand.

    Fury would toy with Opetaia

Even if this is true, sparring is not a real fight.

    Here comes the Opetaia hype.

No I watched multiple interviews of Jai's and others who were in camp with them at that time and they all said it was complete BS and I could tell they weren't lying
