I agree. Now that Fury has lost to Usyk twice, it's become fashionable to dish on Fury.

That's a mistake. I think he looked good in both Usyk fights.

He is a very good HW. He just ran into a generational fighter in Usyk who has an unmatched ring IQ.

Fury beats Opetaia handily and most likely knocks him out.

 

Could he drop him? Of course, many lesser boxers have dropped Fury including "cruiserweights".

Plenty of fighters have dropped Fury, keeping him down is the problem. So yeah I believe it happened.

 

Get this guy up at HW if he's dropping Fury in sparring. What's he waiting for? Fury was the best HW in the world until Usyk beat him so this cruiser guy should go up and just drop everyone and be unified. Crazy he's not doing that, imagine all the money he and his team would make.

It's almost like they don't realise the HW division is out there for the taking!

Or maybe they watched these successful cruisers like Cunningham and Hunter and Adamek go up to HW and be mediocre contenders, or small HW's like Povetkin hit a wall against SHW's with athleticism.

 

I actually saw an interview with Opetaia not long ago and he was asked about the rumours of him dropping Fury in sparring. He said it was BS and didn't happen.

 

Whether it did or didn't happen it wouldn't surprising if Opetaia did floor him in sparring.

Remember that Fury has been officially floored almost 10 times ? and fighters like Cruiserweight Cunningham who is a similar size to Opetaia knocked Fury on the seat of his pants heavily. And Pajkic who had a grand total of only 5 stoppages put Fury down heavily also and rocked him quite badly.

It's not surprising to hear that Fury did get floored in sparring as it's happened numerous times in his professional career. It's actually scoring a stoppage over Fury that's the hard part because whether i like him or not he is good at recovering from being hurt i'll give him that.
