Do you believe that Tony didn't know about the dodgy hand wraps?

What, so why not tell his opponent to use the same. Lucky for opponents he is not a heavy hitter. Could you imagine the damage he could have inflicted on Cotto or others. The Cotto and Cintron fights should be turned over to no contest. Life time ban for his currupt trainera and one year or more suspension for Margarito. If he comes back to fight, let's see if he has that ferocity of punches.

Sort of. A hardened kitchen sponge in your wraps would also be illegal . What about the contention that the hardened cushion was hard and inflexible but also moist.

I didn't realise that was a contentious issue. I thought one of the main issues all along was that the wraps were moist in cushioned areas when that is obviously not permitted. I read it in the LA times blog as well as several other accounts. I'll look for the specific one.

No he has been banned for his trainer using the folded over pads, usally the pads are Gauze as your only allowed to use tape an Gauze so the pad had to be made from Gauze.

if there was anything else such as Bricks insterted or blocks that would have came out, the Gauze were firm and stiff no where does anybody confirm it was anything other than gauze, and the way it looks the only thing left to prove now has to wait until the lab is done with their test next month.

and The labs result will be the story teller, did he have Plaster? or was the Gauze just hardend by sweat drying up from being previously used? time will tell none of you can say for sure that its one thing or the other, when the evidence itself has not even been fully examined.

Open your eyes please.I read somewhere(I'll try to locate the source) that the block(of used gauze)flaked off when scratched.Thats not sweat and anything other than the PoP.Don't palm it off on the trainer either.Sure he applied the wrap but Margo HAD to know all about what was happening.
Using old gauze is illegal alone so don't use another offence as a defence

Bazooka I really admire your overall knowledge, you're a trainer yourself.

I do give him some **** about it, but its like I said as both a former amateur and now trainer I know as much as you all do as to what is acutally in the wraps or pads themselves.

To me its a bit un certain as to what really is in the pad or wrap, that should have been concluded before handing out any suspensions, The hearing today was a waste of tax payers money, this hearing should have been set in a way that it would break down the events that took place at Staples the night of the fight.

We still have today exactly what we had yesterday, the only difference today is that Margaritos trainer is taking the heat for it, that is it, but we have yet to know what was in the pad or gauze that should have been the states priority since that is what he is in trouble for. what was the purpose of todays hearing? what did they acheive? Nothing its no different than it was yesterday.

Now as a trainer and former amatuer its simple usally prior to fights I myself and the kids I have worked with rarely speak anything, its almost dead calm the whole day from weigh in on to the fight, when getting my hands wrapped I never questioned my trainers style I simply let him know if the wrap was too tight, none of my fighters ever questioned the pads I put on their knuckles or how I wrap the only thing that they let me know is if the gauze or tape is too tight.

I think if there was wrong doing it should be punished to the full extent I agree to this, but the question is what is the wrong doing? you can say stiff pads okay, but what made them stiff? was it plaseter which is Obviously illegal or was it because they were used previously and the dried up sweat made them stiff? which does happen becuase I have pads that I re use at the gym and like I said they are stiff as ****ing boards and some you cant bend until they get a little wet.

its not that I am blowing smoke here, I am simply puzzled at the fact that the state has made a huge deal out of this, its made head lines every where in the sports world, and yet with three weeks of time and after a hearing we have the same thing today that we did yesterday.

I would like to think that the state would have done a better more efficient job in finding out if there was some substance what it was who was responsible then hand down their punishment, not do it back wards by handing out punishments and find out what the **** was later.

I think he knew...he must have. Which leads me to ask why so many people still believe mosely took steroids unknowingly...
