I do think it's a lesser offense than anabolics and it's certainly been treated that way but few adult men are more than a few enchiladas away from breaking 130.

Diuretics can also be used as a masking agent for other PED's. So it can used to hide more illicit PED use not just used to cut weight.

The fact they were not able to find a credible source of contamination is suspicious. You often here of athletes claiming they don't know how it happened and often they then can link it to something they consumed and then provide samples. Like when Stiverne tested positive and had his supplements tested and it was discovered a batch of protein powder from a company had been contaminated when they tested other samples from the same batch.

That combined with him working with Reynoso who has had a number of fighters fail tests it only adds to the suspicion that something isn't right.

You can also use calendars to mask performance enhancing drugs. I’m not just going to assume he was taking performance enhancing drugs am I? Caffeine is also a diuretic.

I’ve just read up on Phentermine - the drug he was positive for. The only thing it can mask is amphetamines (since it’s a stimulant), so we actually know it wasn’t used as a masking agent. Unless he snorts lines in training camp, I doubt that.
