It's a tune-up fight coming off of a lay-off (so many "off" words). This should put arguments into perspective and maybe we can agree on some points.

Critics say he's cherrypicking marquez. Well, it's a tune-up. You're allowed that. among those calling out pbf at the time, JMM was logical for a tune-up.

I shall treat the fight as such. no need to get riled up with this one. Floyd should have just treated this fight quietly, dispelled his ring-rust against marquez and went ahead and made his mark against legacy-opponents. Instead he promoted it like a mega-fight and that was his mistake against the critics.

If you're one of those who watch pbf fights to see him lose his 0, don't pay for this fight cause he won't lose it. If you're a marquez fan, you probably are better off on waiting for the replay than getting ppv and use the money for something else. if you're a floyd fan then save your money for his next fight, when he's had his practice over JMM.

Everywhere you look, no one's buying (except those with a lot of disposable income).

How 'bout you, u buying this fight? why?

It is a set up fight like Pacquiao/Cotto is a set up fight. The winners will face each other. While both Mayweather and Pacquiao should win there oponents are by no means push overs.

For me, I will not waste my $49.95 for this tune up fight... It's an overpriced mismatch fight... PBF is 4 to 1 favorite to defeat JMM since he has all the advantages in this fight...

This fight will probably end up as a boring tactical chess match... Very expensive sedative...

you got to admit though that cotto is more than a risk to pac than jmm is to floyd considering the size and the styles?

yes, very interesting. If all goes as planned, floyd beats the great small man at 143, pac beats the bigger guy at 145, then pac vs floyd is on!!!! :happy

even before that pac-floyd fight, the odds are against the floyd legacy. :huh

that's P4P man. Created by the experts to shake-up us fans. P4P is an attempt to rate fighters ACROSS weight classes. It is not a ranking within a fighter's division... you actually have titles for that:shock:.

FOr example, for the sake of argument. it doesn't matter if JMM at 135 is P4P better than Floyd (147), because if JMM at 135 (when at his best) fights against a 147lb floyd, guess who will win? IF JMM adds some weight at his age and without transition, he loses something. SO yeah. IT IS A TUNE-UP regardless of Pound For Pound status.

JMM, however great he is, is a Pac rival at lightweight.,,, that reminds me, if PAC picks on JMM at a 145 lb catchweight, Pac will be cherrypicking then.

GOOD for you man:good. If only I had the capacity to spend some more, so I could join you cheering on. You're absolutely right at the elite thing too. Sad that they are 2 weight divs apart:?

i would definitely pay to watch two of the sports most gifted fighters fight, it will be a chess match and i will enjoy it, dont see why mayweather is expected to win so easy, marquez is in his prime and a great fighter, floyd started at lighter weights and so did pacman so why cant marquez move up and be better?

JMM is not a "tune-up" for anyone. I definitely agree with that. Another thing, I will DEFINITELY buy this fight or go to a bar and watch it. Come on, it is FLOYD MAYWEATHER against Juan Manuel Marquez?

Actually, this fight is already scripted. FLOYD will win this by UD. FLOYD made money and didn't lose his zero, while MARQUEZ will earn his biggest money so far. Though he wil lose, he can say, he lost to No. 1 P4P who is a real warrior because he fought him. And of course it's only a UD, BEING close to a DRAW, he won't whine for this one. Then he will contiue to taunt PACMAN, hoping he will earn more MILLIONS, then he retires. FLOYD on the other hand will be TALKING his usual trash but will not fight PACMAN, beacause he's ......SCARED! REMEMBER THIS AFTER THIS FIGHT! :hat

Yes I will buy it, I've only bought Pac/Hatton this year so I will buy Mayweather/Marquez and probably Pac/Cotto. The smaller PPV's that Top Rank have put out haven't been worth jack ****, oh yeah I bought Barrera/Khan but that was like $25 bucks I think.

I love Marquez but c'mon! Going from 135 to 147 is a very dumb move. Floyd will pot shot his way to a boring decision.. He runs faster and is fresher than Marquez. I won't buy.
