Depends on the opponent. When he's doing his high guard/walk 'em down approach he is boring as ****. On the other hand when he runs up against someone who can push him back, thats when he's exciting to watch because he's a natural counter puncher, has slick defense and can be quite crafty when trying to turn the tables.

His last two fights with Munguia and Berlanga were entertaining enough for me given the one sided nature of them. He’s still in between for me in terms of rewatch value, he needs the right opponents that makes him exciting to watch.

Canelo against Mbilli, Morrell and Benavidez would surely be highly entertaining if he were to face them.

I thought he was exciting to watch for years. His combos and super sharp counters used to be like poetry in motion. This more conservative version is a lot less exciting, but i still enjoy watching him as he always shows glimpses of elite skill and even his recent fights are far from boring.

I find him in between, though more exciting than boring. Trouble is he can be a bit plodding and predictable once he gets stuck into a groove, but his explosive punch selection and knockdown power usually make a fight quite a nailbiting affair.

He actually reminds me a little bit of David Tua. A higher skilled less harder punching one.

As expected Canelo’s entertainment value mostly depends on who he is matched with and if the right opponent allows him to open up more. One has to wonder how much more popular Canelo would be if he had fought more like Julio Cesar Chavez who actually came forward to do some serious damage with consistent offense rather than throw just one punch at a time and waiting for counter opportunities.

Depends greatly on who he's fighting. He's been in some snoozers, as well as some bangers,

Pretty boring, low work rate and methodical, like a plodding version of Mike Tyson.

He *was* exciting. Now he's boring. The Munguia fight was exciting, but the before that, I'd say the Plant fight was his last exciting fight.

I can enjoy watching someone and appreciate what Im seeing, and prefer someones style while also acknowledging they are not overly 'exciting'.

I think a lot of times elite fighters arent exciting in the usual sense because they operate in an intelligent manner that limits the excitement to a degree, and I think Canelo also does this, due to fight IQ.

So no hes not the most exciting fighter, but he can be in exciting fights if he has someone willing to work with him and I enjoy what he does.

The problem is when his opponents dont come to win, which is common it seems, and you have Canelo plodding forward in dull affairs.

In-between. I'm finding him a lot more of a boring watch lately now that he's not timing his shots as well as he used to, or throwing creative combinations. So much seems pre-programmed now: overhand right/hook to the shoulders and arms; jab, two looping body shots; lead hook. Not much variety. And way less head movement.

It depends on the opponent when he fights these guys who just show up to survive like Scull, Charlo and Berlanga it is boring but all fights with GGG were entertaining so were the Plant and BJS fights.

    Poll needs an "overrated" option.

Canelo is in between. He’s not like Shakur who can make any fight boring no matter the opponent. He also isn’t a guy like Ortiz Jr or J Taylor who make it a point to turn everything into a brawl.
