but you gotta beat atleast 2 of them to even be considered elite youself or else you just proved you ahd a certain style to beat that person. reason why margarito and vernon forrest. isnt on there.

 

his handlers handled him very well. Zab was the final test before they put him in with the Wolves. I couldnt think of another way to mold a champion

 

I want to say "yes" because I can see it when he fights, he certianly has what it takes to be considered "elite" - however he needed to beat Margarito to solidify his spot near the top. Losing to such a talentless, chump of a fighter in such a dominating fashion hurt his chances in my opinion.

That said, in light of the recent findings that Margarito is not only talentless, but a cheat, I have to assume Cotto was cheated as well. So pretty much that fight is erased from the record as far as I am concerend, which puts Cotto roght back where he was before it, whcih is on the fence. He needs a big, clean, clear win over Joshua Clottey, and that will sell me.

 

no, he's not an elite fighter. he's a very good fighter, and for some reason EVERYONE believes all of the excuses that get made for him when he looks less than stellar or loses.

he's a good entertaining fighter, but not an elite boxer. he should fight at lw not welter..

1 loss dont mean you aint a elite fighter. he met a fighter with a style that could beat him. ask any fighter who they wanna fight at welter. its gonna be cotto or mosely. not joshua clottery? are you crazy? The elite fighters are at the top of the P4P list i havent saw one in a while but im sure cotto is very close to the top and im guessing shane is #2 who loss 4 times? to people nobody even cared about.does that mean shane isnt an elite fighter?
