Do you consider DeMarco a good test for Valero?

Meaning, if he dominates DeMarco, will Valero gain your respect? I have seen both guys and I can tell you DeMarco, although young, has good technique and is a level above all the opponents he has fought so far.

The best fighters Valero has faced have been Masquera and then Pitula, DeMarco is every bit as good as those two. He's near his peak and on a bit of a roll, I also think he matches up well stylistically with Valero. He's probably a lower top ten guy whose fighting at home. DeMarco is a good test for Valero. I think Valero wins in an exciting fight.

They are both good fighters. I would say Valero is more of a test for Demarco than the other way around. But I understand your point. The answers is yes, I also think Demarco will be a good test for Valero just as Edwin will be for him.

He is about two levels above them De Marco the first two times I saw him I was not too thrilled however over his last three matches has shown that he is a legitimate threat to Valero. Lets see how Valero deals with reach? Valero is no Tyson so I expect this fight to look a bit like Douglas Tyson.

valero should easily be able to dominate demarco if he is as good as he's believed to be. demarco is not a great fighter

DeMarco is about the same level as Mosquera and Pitalua but he definitely has a higher profile even if he is equally unproven. Destroying DeMarco will certainly solidify Valero's status as the best lightweight.

Valero is not even that good. Take away his power and you have a terrible boxer with an ugly style. He takes long swings, takes like a minute to retreat back and has weak ass defense. DeMarco is solid, hell take Valero to deep waters and make him look average.

Personally, I don't not respect Valero so much as I think he's had the lightest of work opportunities to gain the accomplishments he's made. They're outstanding accomplishments and he does have awesome power but his two-division championship, 100% knockout ratio is regarded as it should be. Yes, he has to have something special to accomplish it but we don't know how good he is because it's been about as easy as you can get for such an achievement, no matter how few fighters could do it.

I don't know enough about Demarco to say whether or not it legitimizes Valero as something more than an anomaly of power+opportune moments in his two respective divisions. I do know Funeka well enough to say that a win over him would definitely tell me Valero was more than I've suspected. If he were to beat a Guzman or a Katsidis or any name that I'm familiar with in the lightweight division, then his stock would go well up in my book.

It would be a good win. Valero vs Katsidis should be the fight that the world should see!

Valero would steam roll katsidis in my opinion. You don't want to go blow for blow with Valero. However, and boxer with technical skill has a good chance of beating Valero.

the thing about valero is that expectations are so high on this guy there's no way a fight against DeMarco can be considered a good test.

what are the odds on this fight?
