I honestly don't know who I would rate over. Who do you think is greater, Bernard Hopkins or Roy Jones Jr?

Yes. I like Hopkins better than Jones,
Jones relied on his overall better athleticism. Once he lost it he was done.
Hopkins is a techincal master. Thats why he still around.

The overall better techincal boxer is Hopkins.

Hopkins is over Jones on my list.

Prime for Prime Jones would edge Hopkins, ATG status Hopkins ranks higher.

Jones was fun to watch. Hopkins' fights could sometimes be akin to stepping in dog poop. Boxing is a spectator sport. I like Jones.

No way. At his best Jones was much more dominant, he beat Hopkins H2H, and had a clear edge in athleticism. Hopkins has longevity, but against whom? Jones.

Jones was like Hearns and Leonard and Duran and Leonard. He had the excitement to him that he was the best. Hopkins never had that. Regardless of wins and all that, Jones was greater. His prime was more dominant.

Damn Swarmer I didn't expect this from you.

He barely beat Hopkins in their first match. Jones avoided him since for a reson.

And aganist who..Hopkins is whaat 44 or 45? Still whipping youngings like Pavlik, Pascal, etc. **** even Johnson is doing better than Jones.

You can't say that Hopkins isn't the better overall boxer.

To some degree but prime for prime, Jones was WAY more dominant. I'd be interested in seeing the Vegas odds for Jones and Hops fights from 1994-2002.

STRONGLY disagreed on Jones barely beating Hopkins. Seemed crystal clear to me, as well as everyone else. Hard to duck someone else by moving up too. Instead Hops kept feasting on WW's. Jones kept moving up and dominating until he made the decision to come back down and then he lost it. But still a great boxer while he had it. He lacked the beard to compete when he slowed down. But that doesn't retroactively dull his genius in the 1990's.

Hopkins remaining competitive only shows to me how mediocre SMW and LHW really are. Sad. I do not think Hopkins is the better boxer. Hops's skills and style have kept him afloat thus far. That doesn't mean that Jones' own skills weren't stunning in their own right.

In terms of legacy, I have Hopkins ahead. Prime for Prime is a different story. Jones is a bad style for Hopkins.

I got to give that to you. You're right. I guess I see your point.

I can't agree with Jones being better. I think Hopkins tops him easily.

    Athleticism Jones
    Boxing Hopkins
    Power Jones
    Stamina even
Title Defenses comparing the 160 reign of Hop to the 175 reign of RJJ its even
    Weight jumping RJJ
    Longevity Hopkins
Better wins tough call hopkins has de la hoya and trinidad jones has toney
losses hopkins cause he was never KO'd and they are all shrouded in controversy minus the jones fight
h2h jones he won the fight in their prime the rematch hardly counts
