28-32 is typical prime for a boxer. With his PEDs Joshua might have another 5 years after that.

Not even close. Some people may assume he's in his prime, it's just that he is THAT good, that a green Joshua still beats ATGs like Wladimir. In his early 30's he will be a different beast.

AJ will be what GGG could have been if he didn't waste his time in Germany. We are witnessing history, guys.

AJs Prime will be retrospectively defined based on the totality if his career.

Classic example for this is how people define Mike Tyson and Wlad Klitschko’s primes.

Their primes are retrospectively defined by their unbeaten winning runs and not necessarily when they were actually mentally/physically prime.

AJs Prime started when he beat Whyte. I don’t think he fights on into his mid to late 30s as carrying all that muscle will slow him down and start to cause injuries. So his prime will be fitted to earlier in his career covering an unbeaten run.

So I think his prime started when he knocked out Whyte.

This is definitely the case if AJ gets bounced by Parker and then Wilder, then all of a sudden his prime will be defined as earlier in his career. The earliest you can take his prime back to is Whyte.

Carrying excessive muscle ages HW fighters prematurely and causes injuries from late 20s onwards.

    For example, Haye.

AJ is carrying excessive muscle compared to his natural physique.

I'd say this fight is likely to be it, win or lose - the Takam fight probably the start of him reaching his his prime. He's basically honing, which will be a thing which has to constantly need adjustment as time and opponents go on. The Klitschko fight was what really catapulted him there, he was nearing it and went through the right test at the right time to get it sorted.

This fight is probably the fight which, also win or lose - is the equivalent of the AJ vs Klitschko fight for him. He's coming into this as hungry as ever and will hopefully go through a battle which defines him and teaches him way more than any previous, and will likely be a better and more credible fighter than he has a reputation for at this point.

I think he is on the decline since the Klitschko fight he looked like crap against Takam and will look worse against Parker. I think the Klitschko fight took his prime. He was beaten up badly in that fight even though he pulled it off after Klitschko gassed.

Let's see how he does against Parker. It's about time for his prime; of if he does well, then clearly it probably is.

    you can only tell retrospectivley

    he can improve
stamina will improve as he fights and relaxes more during fights
experience will improve his knowledge of what to do v different styles

but some figthers have long careers at the top some short

    impossible to tell

who knew when bowe fought holyfield when he was what 27 or so that he was only going to go rapidly downhill aftr that at such a young age

who new that when klitchko lost in 2 rounds to sanders that he would be come an atg and be undefeated for 10 years

barry mcguigan my favourite at the time burned bright and then faded very quick

calzaghe reached his peak when his hands were ****ed and was 34 years old

    Joshua is prime.

Wilder 32 years old - with only Stiverne and Ortiz as his only worthwhile fights one could say he’s wasted his prime.
However today fighters especially heavyweights tend to have longer careers. He’s most definitely in his prime and i’d Say he has 3 years left in it.
    Joshua likely has 5-6

Coming into his prime most likely. It's impossible to say until the end of his career. His prime might be a few years away yet or maybe we've already seen it...
