No, I don't think Margarito was the man at that weight. Most of the belts are just trinkets. But it's still an accomplishment beating a dangerous opponent that much bigger than you.
how pac won the fight is far too legit than most champions taking a belt by just scoring points with lots of hugging and running. margarito's fight night weight was beyond 154 but they sanctioned it for the 154 belt. even if a belt is defended multiple times if it makes not a memorable amateurish fight then it will be less legit.
LMAO. Are you aware that most experts thought that Pacquiao would fail at any weight higher than 126? And people are complaining about how he won a title at 150? I was looking through some threads from back in like 2006 and 2007. People were asking if Pacquiao could defeat Cotto and Hatton. Posters said it was a joke and that no featherweight could ever defeat fighters like that. And then he utterly destroyed those people and beat them into the retirement home and they finished their careers in the pub or draining the life out of C+ fighters.
I didn't think Margo's fight night weight was a problem. It was more like Pac weighing in at 144lb that was the issue thus the 150lb catchweight. They decided on 144lbs for Pac as his ideal weight so the cw had to be for 150. FN scales had them at 165lb Margo and 148lb Pac.
No its not. 151 for the vacant. Margarito only had 1 win after Mosley beat him. I think he struggled to make the 151. He kind of looked drained on fight night also.
