In your opinion do you think Mike Tyson was more technically skilled than Ali in his prime?

Tyson was more of a "correct" fighter...Ali did a lot of things wrong...he did things his way..
..not the way your supposed to...

Tyson was more skilled than any heavyweight and also possessed the best physical gifts out of all of them

it was such a short time span when Mike was very skilled, yet he might have been one of the most skilled fighters ever to get inside and bob and weave and go to the body and then the head without getting hit. From 1985-1989 was when he was great-almost unbeatable. And I do not know who could have beaten him at that time.. If I had to be specific with experience and really sharp 1987 and 1988 he was great, which is why he should be rated ATG no matter what.

Nah. More technical in his approach, but not more skilled.

Tyson had better fundamentals and technique but I wouldn't say he was more skilled as it's very hard to judge. Tyson could do things Ali couldn't but Ali could also do things Tyson couldn't.

Could Tyson throw straight punches like the jab or the cross as well as Ali?. Could Tyson judge distance and counter as well as Ali? Could Tyson move as well on the back foot?

Both were very skilled in different areas hard to compare them as their styles and skill sets were so different.

I believe that Tyson at his best was better than Ali at his best. They had similar level competition until their exiles, however what seperates Ali from Tyson is what Ali did after his layoff and what Tyson couldnt/didnt do after his prison term.

I feel Tysons victory over Holmes may be slightly better than Alis over Listons, but i wouldnt diagree with anyone who thought different.

Tyson was more skilled. They were both **** inside, though.

80's Tyson was great on the inside.
How was he **** on the inside when his best tools were uppercuts and hooks to the body?
With Tyson reach he had to be inside to deliver these combo's
There is a misconception was Tyson was not an inside fighter when it was more down to the fact his opponents fought in retreat and constantly tied him up making him look like a mid range fighter.
Most of his glory days he fought chest on chest.

    this........

ali had out of this world speed. so due to his speed ali's way worked for him.

but for pure boxing skills and technically speaking he did a lot of things "wrong".

Ali had great speed, great chin, great will to win. His actual, technical boxing skills were negligible.

No. Skill is not just what classic boxing books tell you it is to me. Naseem Hamed was helluva skilled imo even though he was doing "everything wrong".
