Do you consider Peter a quiter after his loss against Vitaly?

Members have their mouths filled with words as 'Tomatocan' and 'Quiter'. I wonder if you see Sam Peter as a quiter as he stayed on his stool in the 9th round. Was he just beeing smart? (he who fights and runs away tec) or is he mentally not strong enough, a quiter or what....

I think of it like this--yeah he quit on his stool, which I guess inherently makes him a 'quitter' in the dictionary sense of the word, but he did the absolute right thing in doing so. He was completely uncompetitive and there was just no point to keep taking the punishment. When I saw he had quit on his stool I approved; why just keep taking a beating? It's not like he was rope-a-doping Vitali or anything, so there was no point in getting his ass beaten any further.

I also had like 1000 vcash on the under 12...

    Not a Quiter.

Hopefully he'll be healthy to fight another day. Its not worth risking your life and your health.

He did the right choice and I commend him on the courage to do the "right" thing.

    QFT.

Anyone who calls him a quitter under these circumstances have never, ever played in any competitive sport past JV bench riding.

He was getting his ass beat and had a one way ticket to the hospital. He made the right call. No shame in avoiding serious health issues.

He wasn't going to win, and the odds of him landing the big bomb that a puncher has was looking like an impossibility. He did the right thing. I'm sure it was hard for him, and he hung in there trying to execute his game plan, but it just wasn't going to happen.

He lives to fight another day.

Peter did quit, there can be no doubt about that. If that makes him a quitter, then he is a quitter. But I don't like the word "quitter", and I don't think like that. I think it's a medieval/MMA kind of attitude, and that's not me. I think if a man knows he is beaten and is in physical pain, then he should choose to end the contest and not risk suffering severe injury or put his health at risk for some dated notion of bravery/manhood.

He quit, but I don't use the slur of "quitter".

I think he was getting hurt at an accelerated rate, and he knew he was going to get KTFO. So he decided to quit rather than suffer additional punishment. While we can call him a quitter, he actually proved that he does have brains.

**** yeah he quit. Look, if a corner throws in the towel, or it's an obvious major medical issue it's one thing, but being completely coherent and quitting on your stool is about as clear as it gets when it comes to quitting.

Peter was slow, one paced, had no plan B and was on the way to a heavy defeat. He knew he had nothing to beat Vitali with so did the right thing in quitting.

Whether he fights at the top again is debatable as I couldn't see anything special about him.

His corner should have stopped the fight a fighter shouldn't be forced to make that call but it was the right call quitter or not.
